He was born December 30, 1928 in Sandy Hook, Maryland to Iverson and Naomi Bowers m f Miller. lie married Betty June Hill January 25, 1958 in Ogden; she died November 8, 1990. He married Katherine Richards March 5, 1993 in l'rovo. Tom was involved in the Republican Party as a State Delegate; and was very active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and gave 20 years of Military service. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and wrved as a member of the disaster relief team from Utah. He was an active member of St. Peter's Parish and served as a 4th Degree Knights of Colum bus. He is survived by his wife Katherine, 3 daughters and 3 sons: Tammy Miller, Texas; Blaine Miller, Texas; Scott (Christine) Miller, Provo; Teresa (Clint) DeBusk, Texas; Loreen (Eddy) Ellis; American Fork; Thomas Miller, Jr., Pleasant Grove; step-children 3 sons & 3 daughters: Christine (Shane) Nelson, Spanish Fork; Daniel Chaides; Hilda Chaides, Washington; Leticia Chaides, Price; Rick Chaides, American Fork, Hector Chaides, American Fork; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ann Keating, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife. Funeral Mass was held Monday, July 29 at St. Peter's Parish, American Fork. Lewis, 68, loving lov-ing husband, father and gr a n d fa ther, of Highland, U t pas away July 2002. had fighting multiple illnesses for many years and is finally at peace. He was born August 20, 1933 in Suit Lake City to James and Clara Thompson Lewis. He was the youngest of 10 children. He gruduated from Davis High School in 1951 and married his sweetheart Lorine Ehlers March 30, 1953. The marriage was solemnized int he Salt Lake LDS Temple September 6, 1963. They are the parents of four children. During his life, Glenn worked at Kennecott Copper Cop-per Smelter, Western Electric, Elec-tric, and was a retired agent from Farmers Insurance. He was active in the LDS Church and had served as a worker in the Mt. Timpano-gos Timpano-gos Temple. Glenn enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching the Denver Broncos. Bron-cos. He was an avid computer com-puter enthusiast. Throughout Through-out his life he enjoyed being with his family. He spent many hours at Flaming Gorge with his children and grandchildren. Brent Alan Williams Brent Alan Williams' struggles upon this earth ended Sun day, July 28, 2002 at age 24. He was born September 8, 1977 in Caldwell, Idaho to R. John and Diane E. Haumann Williams. Brent grew up and resided in Lindon, graduating graduat-ing from Pleasant Grove High School in 1996. He served in the California, Santa Rosa Mission for the LDS Church. Brent enjoyed camping, hiking, and biking in the outdoors and especially espe-cially loved spending time with his nieceB and nephew. Brent will be greatly missed by his parents, John and Diane of Lindon; brothers: broth-ers: Richard (Tiffani) Williams, Orem; Brian (Rachelle) Williams, San-taquin; San-taquin; Matt Williams, Orem; and Shane Williams, Lindon; nieces, Breanne and Jessica, and nephew, Rich; grandfather, Donald G. I Kelly Joe wonderful, Brother, Grandson, and Nephew left his family to return to his Heavenly Heav-enly Father on Sunday, July 21, 2002 due to an auto accident acci-dent while returning home from Cedar City. Kelly was born July 28, 1983, in Provo, Utah, the son of Wade and Jeanne Mogensen Madden. Kelly grew up in Provo, Utah attending Joaquin Elementary and Farrer Jr. High. He graduated from Timpview High School in May 2001. He was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in June 2001. Kelly was very involved in and loved being in the scouting program with the loving support of his Mom and Dad. He was employed at Smith's Food King in Provo where he made a lot of new friends and was always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone who needed it. Kelly's life was all about having fun. He was always busy and on the go with friends and family. He loved fishing, hunting, hunt-ing, playing football, basketball, bas-ketball, and baseball. His pride and joy was his new Ford Truck that he worked so hard to get. Everyone that Kelly met was a new friend for him. He genuinely genuine-ly loved people. He leaves behind his very best friend and buddy his brother Travis. Interment was in the Orem City Cemetery. Gilbert N. Batchelor Gilbert Norton Batchelor peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving family fam-ily at the age of 91 on July 24, 2002. He was born April 13, 1911 to Eli Lunt and Dora Nell Norton Batchelor. He married his precious sweetheart Orpha Rushton August 6, 1931 in Farmington, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had 69 priceless years together and were great examples to many who knew them. Gilbert took care of his loving wife for many years and was by her bedside when she took her last breath! He set a great example to his family and in return his family took care of him. He was a proud father of 3 daughters: LaRae, JaNae, and Vicki Lynn. He was a hard worker and provided for his family. He was a celery cel-ery farmer and professional painter. He was an active member of the LDS church, where he served in many positions. He supported many missionaries and was always a great support to the church. Gilbert loved to fish, and taught many how to catch a great fish. He also enjoyed spending time in his yard. He watched over his family and loved being with them. He lived his life so that those who came in contact with him knew what a great man he was. He leaves behind many wonderful memories for his family. He will be greatly missed and precious memories will live in our hearts forever. We love you and miss you and know that you are once again reunited with your beautiful sweetheart Orpha. Glen Lee Crawford Glen Lee Crawford, 67, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sat-urday, July 27. 2002. J He was born October Octo-ber 15, 1934 in Deseret, Utah, to Oscar Glen and Anita Meyer Crawford. He married Ear-liene Ear-liene Robinson July 16, 1953 in American Fork, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized sol-emnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 27, 1961. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving for the past 7 years as an ordinance ordi-nance worker in the Mount Timpanogos Temple." He loved history and traveling to historical sites. His terrible jokes were well known tohis family and fellow fel-low temple workers. He enjoyed being with his children, chil-dren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Additional obituaries on page 13 Jean Eastmond Gordon Jean Eastmond Gordon, 87, passed away at home with her family July 28, 2002 after an extended battle with cancer. She was born Mary 14, 1915 to Frank Hindley Eastmond and Clarrisa Jean Taylor. She lived in Salt Lake City early in her life where she attended attend-ed and graduated from East High School. She had four younger brothers. Two of her brothers, F. Taylor (Tay) Eastmond and Richard (Dick) T. Eastmond are deceased and two brothers Jefferson (Jeff) N. Eastmond East-mond and Robert McKinlay (Mick) Eastmond are surviving. sur-viving. Her family owned and operated Geneva Resort, Park Rochette, and Saratoga Springs. Their family operate the resort for years as the "Family Fun Park" of North Utah County. Coun-ty. She attended Brigham Young University where she met Glen H. Gordon. They were married June 12, 1934. Glen was from American Ameri-can Fork and they lived most of their lives in American Amer-ican Fork. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions in the Young Women's, Primary, and Relief Society. Recently she served for several years as a Relief Society teacher at the Heritage Center, and she served a Family History Mission at the Brigham Young University genealogy Library. She contributed her time and talents to the City of American Fork serving with other volunteers running the recreation program for the City in the 1950s. Summer Sum-mer activities included art and crafts, swimming, horseshoe pitching, and other activities. Wintertime brought recreational skiing. She was active in the Lady Lions while her husband, Glen was a member of the Am. Fork Lions Club. The club was responsible for many of the picnic pavilions placed in most of the parks in American Fork. She was active in many other clubs such as pinochle, bridge, literary lit-erary league, etc. As part of her many civic activities she was a member of the shade tree commission, beautification committee, and a downtown revitaliza-tion revitaliza-tion committee. After the death of her husband Glen, she later met and married Byron Pullem on June 20, 1986; he also passed away. Byron was active in Shriners and Elks Lodge where Jean expanded her circle of volunteer vol-unteer activity. She continued contin-ued a close relationship with Bud Pullem, Byron's son from Arizona where she enjoyed attending spring baseball games. In addition to her many volunteer activities she worked briefly for Pulley's Turkey processing plant in American Fork, at Chris-tensen's Chris-tensen's Department store, and then spent 22 years working at the local newspaper, news-paper, the American Fork Citizen (now the New Utah News). In addition to her office duties at the paper, she proofread all articles. She also wrote a column titled "Of Cabbages and Kings." She was an active member of the Utah Press Women's Association. She served as president of the Press Women and was named in "Who's Who". After retiring from r, the newspaper she transferred her energy to the American Fork Senior Citizens program pro-gram where she served for 17 years. She served many years on the board, serving as secretary, Assistant Director, and Director. She then retired from the Center Cen-ter except for the bridge day. She and Glen had five children: G. Paul Gordon (Judy) deceased; Frank H. Gordon (Gloria, Connie) deceased; Joseph E. Gordon (Janice), American Fork; Marilee C. Candelaria (Billy), Salt Lake City; Gary G. Gordon (JoAnn), IJBt. Call, a rheumatologist at Utah Valley Val-ley Regional Medical Center Cen-ter (UVRMC) was presented present-ed with the Physician of Distinction award on July 17. He was selected for this honor for his commitment to the field of rheumatology and for his dedication to his patients and colleagues. "Dr. Call is admired by all and is an incredible resource to our medical staff. He is also known for his ability to intepret medical med-ical bi-laws. I consider him a valuable friend and an amazing asset to our medical med-ical staff," said Neil Whitak-er, Whitak-er, UVRMC and Orem Community Com-munity Hospital medical staff president. Over the yean, Dr. Call has provided leadership for IHC, specializing in internal inter-nal medicine in the field of rheumatology. He has served as the president of the UVRMC and Orem Community Hos- - -f pital (OCH) medical stafT, as a member of the governing govern-ing board and as the interim inter-im medical director of the Utah Valley Rehabilitation Center. Currently, Dr. Call is the medical director of the Cre-dentialing Cre-dentialing and Quality Office at UVRMC. .i He received a BA in Brazilian literature from Brigham Young University and his MD from George Washington University. After finishing medical school, he did his residency in internal medicine at the Brooke Army Medical Center Cen-ter in San Antonio, Texas.
