Harper On Ricks College Honor Roll Mames of the 793 students at Ricks College named to the Spring semester Honor Roll have been listed. Among those so honored is Wayne Alan Harper of American Ameri-can Fork. The Registrar's Office report- ed students getting 3.5 grade point average or above for the semester, taking at least 14 hours of classwork, are named to the honor roll. Enrollment Spring semester at the two-year college owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) hit 4,996. Snow College Holds Honors, Awards Event Snow College begam ots 87 annual Commencement Week by presenting a variety of trophies, plaques, medals, and certificates at its annual Honors and Awards Convocation. Convocation awards went to students who had outstanding success academically, had participated par-ticipated in student body aciti-vites aciti-vites or had provided leadership in campus organizations. American Fork residents receiving ribbons for academic excellence were Scott J. Bond and Bernard N. (Ossie) Nelson was honored hon-ored on his 80th birthday, Monday, Mon-day, May 26th by 37 members of his family at a family dinner and reunion. Those attending were five sons and their families: fami-lies: Ray and James E., American Ameri-can Fork; Robert, Orem; W.O. (Bill) Jr., Albuquerque. New Mexico; and Glen, Las Vegas, Nevada. There were 19 grandchildren grand-children and 6 great grandchildren grandchil-dren present. After a delicious dinner at the Rotary Park, the family returned home where Mrs. Nelson Nel-son was confined as a result of a broken hip, and all joined together to sing "Happy Birthday" Birth-day" to Ossie. Many friends and neighbors also dropped by. Mr. Nelson was born May 26, 1895, at Buysville (now Daniels), Dan-iels), Wasatch County, Utah, to Wilford and Matilda Ann Peterson Peter-son Nelson. He spent his youth as a trapper and was the first government trapper in Utah. He married Stella Conder on August Au-gust 7, 1916 and has resided in American Fork since then. His life has been colorful. He has been active in church activities, especially in scouting and genealogy. gen-ealogy. He and Stella served as chairmen of the Old Folks Committee Com-mittee for many years. He loves the out-of-doors and still enjoys trips into the mountains where he tells his grandchildren his famous bear stories around the campfire.
