"It's been a very good year," for members of the American Fork Lions Club during 1974. During the year, 14 club members were honored for having hav-ing 100 percent attendance during dur-ing the 1973-74 club year. They were Charles Biggins, Norman Clark, Wayne Durrani, C.A. Grant, Frank Greenwood, Keily Hail, iwrence Hansen, Joseph B. Hanson, Emil 0. Jones, Francis Fran-cis Mortensen, James B. Nelson. Nel-son. Glen Roundy, Ray Walker and Wilson Welsh. Club members erected picnic boweries at Rotary Park and Evergreen Park for the enjoy ment of area residents picnicing the Mid-Winter Banquet for all in the parks. The new bowery at Lions in the state, and in the Rotary Park brings to two, the summer months, they enjoy the boweries now available in that State Convention. District Lions Junior High School, to help make this north entrance to American Fork a mme hjnti-ful hjnti-ful area to pass. The Lions Club is led this year by Charles Biggins with Emil O. Jones as first vice president and : president-elect. Club members meet iwice a month - the second ar.d fourth Thursdays, with the first netting a business meeting meet-ing and the second meeting planned for both Lions and their Lionesses. Paul Mortensen, director, said the chorus was re-activatnd this year and is now available for appearances before community, club or other events both ii American Fork and throughout the state. Tfie chorus is made up of 75 young voices, Mr. Mortensen said. He noted the boys and girls meet after school for practice. Their appearances have included in-cluded the Music Festival held in Orem last week and the Winter Concert of the Junior High School vocal department last Thursday evening. For their public appearances, the girls are dressed in long blue skirt, red blouses and white sweater wsts. .The toys have blue shirts, blue trousers and white sweater vests. The chorus is directed by a faculty committee headed by park. Work was also done on the hillside on North First East adjacent ad-jacent to the American Fork Club leaders also meet wiih local club members during the year as part of the club activities. A recent survey of credit executives ex-ecutives by NACM sees a rise . in the number of companies filing for bankruptcy, accord- ; ing to 72 per cent of the re- : spondents, while 62 per cent expect an increase in the num- r ber of accounts placed in the hands of collection agencies. j These forecasts are based on conditions imposed by current . high interest rates and slow payments by customers. Busi- ness credit executives say these are their two major concerns -today. As a result, 88 per cent foresee more stringent credit policies in the next six months. I Other problem areas identified identi-fied in the survey are supply problems, inadequate cash flow, business failures, excess inventories, falling sales and "inadequately-trained personnel.
