A second assistant superintendent superinten-dent was named to a newly created post and two other staff members were assigned administrative admini-strative level positions. The changes are effective immediately, immedia-tely, said Dr. Sagers. J. Dean Jones, formerly program director at the Training Train-ing School, wiii serve as an assistant superintendent of Programs and Professional Services. Ser-vices. William Long, formerly director of USTS Social Services .Department. "will direct tiw Community Services Division and Dr. Gary Nakao will serve in the new Health Services director dir-ector slot. Jay Stevens will continue as assistant superintendent of Support Sup-port Services, according to Dr. Sagers. His jurisdiction will include in-clude the warehouse, directed by Ainja Hansen; business of fice, directed by Doran Piatt; and maintenance services, directed dir-ected by Boyd Durrant. Reporting to Mr. Jones will be the Officer of the Day, Phyllis Thorn; director of Volunteer Services. Harriet Muliiner; Director Dir-ector of Records and Evaluation, Evalua-tion, Jan Mallet; Director of Cottage Life, Mark Larsen; the program Director yet to be named; Professional Services Director J. Lorin .lex; a Vocational Voca-tional 1 raining director yet to be named; and Carol Mschaelis, n 5? f. X f director of Staff Development. Mr. Long will supervise the Community Group Home program, directed by Irene Eig-gren: Eig-gren: the Community Day Care Centers, directed by Steven Littlefield; and a new Community Commun-ity Social Services Department. Dr. Nakao will supervise the Training School Dental Department, Depart-ment, directed by Dr. Dean Taylor; the Genetics Program supervised by Dr. W. C. Wiser; the Medical Program directed by Dr. Jack A. Madsen, and all health support services at the school. Dr. Sagers immediate staff will now include Mr. Stevens, Mri Jones, Mr. Long, Dr. Nakao, Betty G. Thursday, December 19, in their annual Winter Concert. The concert con-cert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the junior high school gymnasium. The public is invited. invit-ed. Paul Mortensen. director, said appearing will be the Seventh Grade Chorus, Ninth Grade Chorus, and the newly re-activiated re-activiated Junior Patriots chorus. chor-us. Also participating in the concert con-cert will be the Elementary School String Group, and the American Fork Junior High School String Orchestra. Christmas music will be presented as well as the traditional tradi-tional literature, Mr. Mortensen said. Mrs. Bernice Archibald of American Fork announces the recent marriage of her daughter, Diana, to James Wil-lard Wil-lard Gnssum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Waiter Price, Hacienda Heights, California, Father of the bride is the late Dean Archibald. Archi-bald. The young couple were married mar-ried at the Fleur de Lis Chapel in Hacienda Heights, California on Saturday, December 7. Following the ceremony they were honored at a wedding reception at the home of the groom's parents. The bride wore a princess-style, princess-style, white-knit jersey gown lor the occasion. She carried a bouquet bou-quet of yellow roses arranged with baby breath. She was attended at-tended by her sister,. Mrs. Terry. Read as matron of honor. Htnuiiimig the dutes of best man was George Grissum, brother of the groom. The entertaining rooms were decorated in gold and whiie. The three-tiered wedding cake was decreed with pink rosebuds rose-buds a-d topped with a minia-' ture bride and groom. Centering the large serving table was a lovely . pink and white centerpiece center-piece featuring wedding bells. The Jiew Mr. and Mrs. Grissum Gris-sum are making their home in Santa Anna, California. The bridegrcjtn attended the University Uni-versity of Southern California' where he was on the football team. He is presently employed in Santa Anna. The four homes being featured fea-tured include the Hal Holm-stead Holm-stead residence with its beautiful beauti-ful traditional styling; the Ker- mit Kelly home built mainly by Kermit and Wanda; the Dr. Claude Thomas home which is a spacious semi-modern facility and the lovely provincial home of the Mackey Boley family. Tickets will be given at each of the homes. A contribution of $2.50 per person is suggested for the tour of the four homes. The Building Fund Committee wishes to extend a sincere thanks to these families in accepting ac-cepting and consenting to share their beautiful homes with the community. Concert will be tonight, Dec. 19 in the 'American Fork Junior High School gymnasium. "Facts in Brief", published by Virginia Forests, Inc. reports "Population figures have shown that for each 10,000 new people settling in a city, 100 new acres will be needed for retail and service stores, 150 acres for parks and other public lands, 700 acres for homes, 180 acres for public streets and 70 acres for industry. Additionally, the group will need 1.5 million gallons gal-lons of water daily which someone will have to find for them." Am. Fork DUP Camp Holds Christmas Party The American Fork Camp of the DUP met at the home of Vivian Nicholes for a Christmas party. Captain Alice Lund conducted con-ducted the meeting. Mariam Park gave the prayer. Minutes were read by Virgie Warnick. Betty Johnson gave the lesson. The lesson was titled "That They be Remembered in Early Utah and Early Christmas Parties". Par-ties". Nida Hall read a poem she had written, it was called "Christmas Bells". Ed Scovill sang a group of Christmas songs. He accompanied accompan-ied himself on the guitar. Games were enjoyed by everyone ever-yone and gilts were exchanged. Delicious refreshments were served. The committee members memb-ers were Fay Bowers, Thelma Crandall, Gloria Scovill, Betty Johnson, Vivian Nicholes, Madalin Beat, Alice Lund and La Rue Ga isford. Alan Carter Receives Prize Alan Carter, son -f Mr. and Mrs. Don Northrup, American Fork, has been notified that he is second place winner in the Utah State Fair essay contest conducted during the fair last fall. Alan received a check for his winning essay on "What I Learned on my Visit to the Stale Fair." A fourth grade student at the Forbes Elementary School, Alan wrote the essay as part of an English project conducted in his class.
