Dailey, American Ameri-can Fork performed and was well accepted by the students of the Greenwood Elementary Schoo; on Monday afternoon April 29. ionn nas extensively toured the United States and Canada singing for high schools, junior high schools and elementary schools. He has also entertained in clubs, prisons, colleges and other places. He lived in American Ameri-can Fork while he was a young boy and was a student at the Greenwood School. It seems that our young people peo-ple see many professional must- ' cians on TV but rarely have the opportunity to see live perfor mances. Greenwood Elemen- Siudents at the Shelley Elementary Ele-mentary School are now enjoying enjoy-ing use of a carousel slide projector and two tape recorders record-ers as a result of the PTA sponsored spon-sored soup label drive. The drive was held last fall, PTA presidsnt, Mrs. Carol Thornton, and Mrs. Merle Cox. project chairman, said. A total of 12,125 labels were gathered by the students to obtain the equipment. fThe projector and tape recorders were presented to Cecil Cay Hansen, school principal, princi-pal, at a special assembly by Mr s. Thornton and Mrs. Cox. Mrs. Thornton expressed appreciation to not only the students and their parents, family and friends for their assistance assi-stance in gathering the labels but also to other residents of the city and nearby cities who aided the drive. She noted that over 100 labels was received from Mrs. Dean Bennett in Orem; 74 from a Mrs. Hans W. Wolterbeck; and 100 labels from Marshall Ham-nan, Ham-nan, a kindergarten student from Brigham City. Labels were also received from Vernal, Logan, Delta, Cedar City and Pleasant Grove "We could never have reached our goal if everybody hadn't been so nice," Mrs. Thornton said and Mrs. Cox said. id 4 The guided tours of Timpano-gos Timpano-gos Cave have resumed for the summer season. Superintendent, Don H. Castleberry said the tours will be offered daily, beginning at 8 a.m. Visitors should plan to arrive ar-rive at the Visitor Center no later than 4 p.m. for the three hour hike and cave tour. The Visitor Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing museum exhibits, information and color slide program about the area. Visitors are reminded to bring a jacket or coat for the cave tour, where temperatures average aver-age 43 degrees. Sturdy walking shoes are also helpful for the scenic three mile round-tr-p hike to the cave. For safety reasons, children under the age of 16 are not permitted on the cave trail without adult supervision. supervi-sion. The round-trip through the caves normally requires three hours and a guide fee of SO cents is charged. Superintendent Castleberry said that in past years, in the attempt to accommodate all visitors who came on holidays and weekends, the carrying capacity had been exceeded, resulting in damage to the fragile and unique experience. Due to the small size of the caves, protection of the delicate formations ana tne need for each visitor to hear the' guide's presentation, each tour is limited limit-ed to 20 persons. As a result, the total number of visitors who can be guided through the caves, in any one day is limited, and advance reservations are required for large groups. I j. ; i : n I - - , V J J : - I 5 !
