This was the Srst race for Mrs. Healey, young mother of five, ranging in age from 12 years down to nine months. She took first place in the Powder Puff competition, lor women only, in the race with eight cars, winning ahandsome trophy. They used the same vehicle, a 1956 Ford, converted to racing standards, under the direction of Karl Healey, racing mechanic. In this class, it was explained, the vehicles must date from lyi9 to 1957, and must ure all original stock for that vintage. The car is numbered 9-C. In the B Class, cars may date from 1947 to the present year, and it is allowed to change stock, but only one carburetor may be used.
