Show 0 slsy Tcinis Coiplste Tour"'c Area Field Trip Faint heart never won a summer sum-mer high school biology credit. Arlo Shelly and Carl Ingersoll attest to the paraphrased maxim. max-im. The science Instructors just last week completed heading field trips over a course of four weeks in different areas of the state. The class was made up of twenty-three American Fork High School students, twelve boys and eleven girls. Queried as to any really exciting ex-citing experiences, Mr. Shelley said, "Well, now, there was tha day we ran into rattlesnakes up on MahoganyMountainaboveSage Brush Flat up above Pleasant Grove. "Rattlesnakes," your reporter re-porter gasped, "how many?" "We saw two and heard three others oth-ers rattle a warning." Mr. The Ultimate in Carpet Gleasii Shelley got a dandy picture of one. The boys wanted to kill it but gave way to their instructor's reasoning, "This is part of the ecological system" (whatever that means). Pressed farther, another exciting ex-citing experience of the young people (all hardy explorers) was the trip on rubber rafts down the Green River, following the route John Wesley Powell took 100 years ago, from what is now Flaming Gorge to Brown's Park or Hole as Powell callod it, a 15 mile trip by water and 45 miles back to Dutch John by bus. The last week out up in the high Uintahs, nature seemed to take a hand in the final test of endurance. Cooking breakfast in a full scale blizzard with four inches of snow and more coming still failed to dampen the enthusiasm enthus-iasm of the group. When check-in time came at the end of the four weeks there wasn't a 'faint heart in the bunch. All were ready to go again. July 15 at 8 p.m. in the High School little theater colored slide pictures will be shown. Mr. In gersoll and Mr. Shelley invite any one interested to Join the stu dents and parents in seeing the pictures. IS HERE AT LAST!
