Air Force Airman's Medal for voluntary risk of life from Colonel Hiram P. Bilyeu, commander of the 55th Weather Squadron. Sergeant Harris received the medal at Bielson AFB, Alaska, for saving sav-ing a man and boy from drowning while serving at Travis AFB, Calif. Sgt. David N. Harris Cited For Saving 2 From Drowning Staff Sergeant David N. Harris, Har-ris, son of Albert G. Harris of Alpine, Utah, has been decorated decor-ated with the U.S. Air Force Airman's Medal, Eielson AFB, Alaska, for heroism at the vol untary risk of his life. Sergeant Harris was cited for saving a man and boy from drowning drown-ing on July 8, 1967, at Clear Lake, Calif. Hearing cries for help, the sergeant plunged into the lake fully clothed and swam to the spot where the two disappeared beneath the surface. After two dives, Sergeant Har ris located them, brought them to the surface and towed them over 100 feet to shallow water, Sergeant Harris, whose moth er, Mrs. Fawn Wyatt, lives in Orem, is a maintenance sched uler with the 55th Weather Re connaissance Squadron at Eiel son. A 1955 graduate of Weber High School in Ogden, the sergeant entered the Air Force in 1952. He was stationed at Travis AFB, Calif., before going to Eielson. R. Bruce Perry New Forest Staff Assistant R. Bruce Perry has been ap pointed staff assistant on the Pleasant Grove Ranger District according to Steven M. Rushton, District Forest Ranger. Mr. Perry's responsibilities in this capacity will include fire control, land use, visitor information infor-mation service and timber. Prior to coming to the Pleas ant Grove Ranger District, Mr. Perry served on the Teasdale District of the Dixie National Forest.
