Mrs. Lucille Richards' kindergarten kinder-garten classes at the Alpine Elementary Ele-mentary School can after completing com-pleting study of a farm unit. Mrs. Richards, whose family until a few years ago operated a dairy farm, said that in completing com-pleting the unit, she decided to "specialize" about the thing she knew most about - dairy farming. farm-ing. So, along with classroom study about the various breeds of cattle cat-tle found on dairy farms, the children chil-dren went on walks throughout Alpine to discover the breeds of cattle found in their own area. Next fresh cream was brought into the classroom and the children chil-dren tried their hand at making homemade butter. The study was climaxed with a visit to a dairy farm in Pleasant Grove. Here Charles W. Warnick, owner, conducted them on a tour of his dairy, explaining how the milk 's cared for before it Is trucked to plants for processing for store shelves. In addition, the students visited the Arza Adams turkey farms, also in Pleasant Grove. After coming back to school, they made a bulletin board showing show-ing what they had seen, Mrs. Richards said. Joining them on their field trip were the first grade students stu-dents of Mrs. Emily Clegg. David and Susan Ruse, a newly married couple, have moved to American Fork.
