(2) To represent Utah County and each city of the Coun ty's Interest in keeping government govern-ment close to the people In the wake of so many State reorganl-zational reorganl-zational efforts. (3) To foster Utah County's Interest In the states efforts In Business, Agri cultural, Industrial, and Recrea tlonal developments. (This Board establishes the policy poli-cy to guide the National Governor's Gover-nor's organization, the National Legislative organization, etc.) ' Mr. Dean has been a member of many national, state and local projects, working In the interest of the public, among which are: 0) Member of a committee presently pres-ently organizing a comprehensive mental health program for Cen tral Utah. (2) Member of a National Na-tional panel of consultants for vocational education, appointed by President Kennedy to rec ommend needed changes in vocational vo-cational and technical education to meet the occupational training train-ing needed In a changing world of work. (3) Sponsor of legislation legis-lation which permits high school students to receive vocational- technical' education during the summer in Utah's two trade-technical trade-technical schools. (4) Board member of the United Fund for Utah County. (5) Board member of Leukemia Committee for Utah. (6) Member of a committee which organized Utah County's Safety Program. (7) Member of President Presi-dent Elsenhower's committee on Children and Youth. (8) Member of President Kennedy's committee commit-tee on Public and Industrial Safety, Safe-ty, (9) Is presently completing a study to determine how Utah's vocational and technical educational educa-tional program can better serve the needs of Utah's business and industry. (10) Member of National Nation-al Legislative committees ok Reapportionment; Water and Soil Conservation; Automobile Safety; Reorganization of the legislative branch of Government; and State and Federal Affairs. Mr. Dean was a candidate for Governor in the 1964 Democratic Primary. . Mr. Dean Is . a graduate of BYU with a bachelors and masters mas-ters degree and is nearing completion com-pletion of work on a doctorate degree from the University of Utah.
