Show Utah County Blast Kills Orem Man A, twenty-five year-old Orem nan . was killed Tuesday In an accidental detonation of an explosive ex-plosive charge on a test site of an explosive manufacturing company com-pany vest of Utah Lake. Killed was Delbert Farrell, son of Mrs. Lucille FarrelL He was an employe of IRE CO Chemicals Chem-icals Co. The underwater discharge occurred oc-curred in a pond on the test site. Mr. Farrell was in a small boat near the slurry explosive charge, said Utah County Sheriff Ralph (Dick) Chappie. The force of the explosion threw the victim and boat at least 100 feet onto the shore. . Funeral Services Held For Lolajean Wild Funeral services were held Thursday, May 5, for Lolajean Bartlett Adams Wilde, 72, who died Monday, May 2, in the American Amer-ican Fork Hospital of natural CAUS6S. She was born July 29, 1893 In Tennessee, a daughter of Francis Fran-cis and Clenna Alice Goan Bartlett. Bart-lett. She married Delos Adams, they were later divorced. She married Marty N. Wilde on December De-cember 24, 1945 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of the IDS Church. Surviving are her husband, American Fork; one son, Dick Adams; South Pasadena, Calif.; one grandchild; brother, William E. Bartlett, Murray; sisters, Mrs. Etta B. Tucker, Provo; and Mrs. E.H. (Margaret) Peterson, Aberdeen, Idaho. Services were held In the Anderson An-derson and Sons Mortuary Chapel in American Fork. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. Ceme-tery. He also attended at-tended the University of Utah. Elder Longden fulfilled a mission mis-sion for his Church In the Central Cen-tral States from 1921 to 1924. Upon bis return to Utah he Joined Join-ed Jenniis-MiUer-Knowlton in surance agency. In 1927 he became be-came a sales' representative for General Electric Co., products distributor and in 1930 he was employed In the sales department of the Utah Power and Light Co. He transferred to Westlnghonse Electric Supply Co., and In Decern De-cern b e r 1938 became assistant manager of that firm, and then manager from 1942 to 1952.Jn September 1952 he became area manager for National Electric Products Corporation, a position he held until his active business retirement in 1960. Active in civic affairs, Elder Longden has served for more than 20 years on the appeal board of District No. Two of Selective Service. He served as vice president pres-ident of Salt Lake Rotary Club; president of Bonneville Knife and Fork Club; president of Inter-mountain Inter-mountain Electric Association; president of Businessmen's Alliance, Alli-ance, and for many years served on the Salt Lake County American Ameri-can Red Cross and the Salt Lake area Community Chest. He has held many responsible Church positions since he was a youth. On his return from his mission in 1924 he was chosen as assistant superintendent of the Salt Lake Stake Mutual Improvement Improve-ment Association boafd. He served serv-ed as bishop of the Nineteenth LDS Ward from 1925 to 1930. Other- positions included assistant as-sistant superintendent of the Yale Ward MIA, 1930-31, and superintendent, super-intendent, 1931-32; member of the Salt Lake Stake High Council, Coun-cil, 1933-36; Highland Stake High Council, 1936-50, when he was appointed a member of the General Gen-eral Welfare Committee of the Church, a position he still holds. As Assistant to the Council of Twelve Apostles, Elder Longden serves on the General Priesthood, Priest-hood, the Book of Mormon, and the Boys and Girls' Work Committees. Com-mittees.
