Show i I if 1 - iif, i LEONA C. ANDERSEN Funeral Rites Held For Leona Clark Anderson Leona Clark Andersen, 77, American Fork, died Sunday, May 13, in the American Fork Hospital of natural causes. She was born November 1, 1895 in Coalville, Utah a daughter of William Samuel and Elizabeth Wright Clark. She married Charl Jens Andersen on November 29, 1916 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 6, 1970. Leona C. Andersen moved to American Fork when she was 13 years old. She is a member of the LDS Church and has served in the organizations as a Sunday School teacher. Primary teacher and Visiting teacher in the Relief Society. She was Ward Relief Society Secretary for 18 years, serving under five ward presidents. For many years she sang at weddings, parties and funerals in duets and trios. She also sang in the Singing Mothers, was active in several women's clubs and in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Survivors include one son and one daughter, Charl Paul Andersen, An-dersen, St. George, Utah; Mrs. Kennedy (Mildred) Thornton, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren; grandchil-dren; one great-grandchild; one brother and one sister, John Clark, Salt Lake City and Mrs. John (Ada) Bruno, Crescent City, California. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 12:00 noon in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel under the direction of Bishop Eugene Harvey of the American Fork Eighth Ward. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. The production of spring onions in Texas is expected to be less than the 1972 crop which was also smaller than in previous prev-ious years. Funeral Held Monday For Arvilla Patrick Arvilla Olsen Patrick, 69, Alpine, Al-pine, died Thursday, May 10, at her home of natural causes. She was born in Alpine a daughter of Hans E. and Jane Field Healey Olsen of Aug. 25, 1903. She married William A. Patrick April 8, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Oct. 20, 1960. She was a housewife and a member of the Alpine Third Ward. She has been active in Primary, MIA, and Sunday School and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She participated in the Senior Citizen Band and was a former resident of Murray. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Arnold Patrick and Joseph Patrick both of Alpine; Al-pine; Mrs. Gerald (LaRetta) Loertsher, Layton; one stepson, step-son, Colvin E. McDaniel, Alpine, Al-pine, four grandchildren; one brother, John Olsen Alpine. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 14, at 12 noon in the Alpine Third Ward Chapel. Local Guardsman Has Training Highlight A local National Guardsman experienced a particularly rewarding weekend of training recently. He is Officer Candidate Candi-date Larry Tolman of American Fork. He was one of thirty-three candidates and fourteen staff officers and non-commissioned officers of the Utah Military Academy (OCS) who traveled to Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and to Washington, D. C.
