Local Folk Singers to Sing at State Convention ' The Minstrels Six, a group of boys from American Fork High School will perform at the morning morn-ing session of the Utah Congress of Parent and Teachers Annual State Convention Saturday morning in Salt Lake City. Singing Sing-ing is not the only talent this group possesses. This popular folk singing group are among the leaders of American Ameri-can Fork High School. Morris Angell is the' guitarist of the group and sings. Lou Hall Is a talented artist on the Forkaster Staff He also holds a part time job after school and on Saturdays. - Dennis Seals was a member of the' football team and participates partici-pates in track. Stephen Harward edits the Forkaster which has won National Nation-al Honors for the third consecutive conse-cutive year. He Is a member of the National Honor Society and holds a part time Job. Stephen plays the piano for the group and sings. Ken Beck Is Senior Class President. Pres-ident. ' He Is also a member of the football team, basketball team and track" squad. Grant Schaumburg has a scholastic record that Is nearly unbeatable. He Is recent winner of Sterling Scholar General Scholarship Award, Winner 1963 National Merit Scholarship Award, Elks Leadership contest winner, - Studentbody President, National Honor Society member and is very active In athletics being on football squad that took state twice. They enjoy singing which Is half the secret of their success. The Utah Congress of Parent and Teachers will hold its Ann' ual Convention In Salt Lake Fri day and Saturday, May 3-4, 1963, The Student Union Building at the University of Utah will be the location. Keynote address will be given Friday morning by Sterlin W. Sill. He will speak in "An Adventure in Leadership, Mr. Sill Is eminently qualified to muddy standi. vslvt. From National Congress comes Mr. Fred L Keeler and Mrs. George L. Headley Mrs. Keeler has just concluded a term as National Na-tional Vice President, she is from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mrs. Headley comes from North Dakota Da-kota and ; Is vice president of that area. She ,was a delegate to the 1960 White House Conference Confer-ence on Children and Youth at Washington, D. C. Mackey Boley Formal announcement of the forming of Boley Realty, Inc. is being made by the owners, Mac-key Mac-key Boley and Ray Lamoreaux. The business is located at 120 North 1st East, American Fork where they have been in business since December. They share their office with Ralph Binnall Ins. Co. Mackey Boley lives at 353 North 825 East, American Fork. He was born and raised In American Fork and graduated from the local high school in 1954. He was active in athletics and school government. He fulfilled ful-filled a mission In the North west States for the Church of Jesus Christ ' of Latter-day Saints in 1954-58. He attended the B. Y. U. majoring In Finance and Banking. He married Joyce Skinner a local girl In 1958. They are the parents of three children. He first entered Real Estate business while working for Kolob Real Estate, and was later associated as-sociated with Y's Realty as a co- owner until December of 1962, So with his desire to make his place of business among his friends he and Mr. Lamoreaux decided to establish the -Boley Realty where Mackey Is the broker He is a member of the American Fork Rotary Club. Raf Lamoreaux lives" at 335 North 850 East, American Fork. He was born and raised lh Ari zona, moving to 'American Fork ten years' ago. While here he has farmed and operated a Chevron Service Station in town. Mary Lu Larsen, member of the Americanettes who twirls the .fire-baton with the group. The Americanettes are re-or ganizing. Practices of the group began last Saturday and the girls will meet two times weekly. Saturday at 2 pm and Wednesday Wednes-day at 3:30 pm, . - ' All high school girls interested in trying out for ' the group should meet at the 9th Ward Church on Saturday at 2 p m., or contact Kay" Bond, director of the group. Also needed by the group are any girls who can play the drums. Please meet with the girls on Saturday. Plans for parade work, half time activities at Rodeos and other summer programs are being made. Girls are already prac ticing routines and steps. Prac tice will continue for two more weeks before try-outs will be held and 28 girls will be chosen from the group to participate. Auditions This Weekend For South Pacific Auditions for the presentation of "South Pacific" to be presented pre-sented by the Utah Valley Opera Association, will be held Friday and Saturday. May 3 and 4th The porduction will be presented late in July. Try-outs for both be held both days at 8 p.m in the Women's Club House at 3rd North and University Ave., Provo. All who are interested and who qualify for solo or chorus work are urged to try for parts in the presentation. Ray Lamoreaux prior to his taking a position with Y's -Realty as a salesman and manager of the American Fork office. His wife is the former Lucy Cardon also of Ari zona. They are the parents of eight children. One is married and the rest live at home. Mr. Lamoreaux is a member of the Rotary Club and a member of the board of directors of the American Fork Chamber of Commerce.
