Ellison Succumbs to Heart Attack Mrs. Alida Bates Ellison, 6 long-time resident of American Fork, died at her home Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.' following- a heart attack. . She was born- April 24, 1893, lnGrantsvllle, a daughter of Or son P. and Harriet Bates. Her early life was spent In Grants-ville Grants-ville and Oakley, Idaho. On June 5, 1912, she was married, mar-ried, to A. Ray Ellison In the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Price and Provo and in 1927 they moved to American Fork .where they have since resided. Mrs. Ellison was a member of the Adams Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers; and took an active ac-tive part in the church, especial ly in genealogy work. She also assisted her husband In their cleaning business which he has operated for many years in American-Fork. She Is survived by her husband; hus-band; two sons, William R. Highlight of; the local celebrations celebra-tions will be parades and formations forma-tions during which National Guardsmen will take an. oath reaffirming their patriotism and loyalty to the National Guard and Its purposes. ' The muster formations will be conducted in much the same manner followed in the Colonial Days when the country's early militias held roll call and inspection. in-spection. The 1958 Muster Day will honor the nation's first president, pres-ident, George Washington, on his birthday. In Salt Lake City the occasion will be marked by a parade through the downtown area of 2,000 Army and Air National Guard troops. A Muster Day formation will be, conducted on the city's main street. Other observances of the Nation-wide event will include,, an open house in every Utah-armory, several military balls and other events. On Feb. 15, 1890, the battleship battle-ship USS Maine was sunk by an underwater explosion at Havana, Cuba. Of the 350 man crew, 260 were lost.
