Survey Shows Snow Depths Below Last Year Snow depth in the mountains is a little below what it was at this same time last year, according accord-ing to measurements just completed com-pleted by Thomas Walker, Na tional Parks Service, Stanley Peterson, Soil Conservation Service Serv-ice and Jerry Hill, Forest Service. Water content at the Timpan-ogos Timpan-ogos Divide, from where we receive re-ceive our water, is 86 per cent of normal. According to Mr. Walk er, during January the Divide received the smallest amount of precipitation, 2.30 since the measurements have been taken. January is normally the wetest month of the year and precipitation precipi-tation averages 5.48. Snow measurements and water wa-ter content for this year as compared com-pared to last year are listed as follows: Tlmpanogos Cave Snow depthJ tnis year was s.z mcnes. compared com-pared to 11 Inches last year, with an average of 11 Inches. Altamont Snow measures for this year showed 37.8 inches compared witty 40 Inches last year, with an average of 41.3 Inches. Water content measured measur-ed 10.6 inches this year, 9.6 inches inch-es last year, averaging 11.8 inches. Tlmpanogos Divide 48.4 inches inch-es was the snow measurement for this year as compared 'with 60 inches, last year. The average aver-age is 54.1 inches. . HOW TO MAKE PERFECT MERINGUE SHELLS 4 egg whites 1 teaspoon cream of tartar H teaspoon salt ' Vi teaspoon vanilla 1 cop sifted granulated sugar NOTE: Egg whites should be at room temperature to whip up extra fluffy, but eggs should be separated while cold. More than 60 Utah National Guard officers from 26 cities throughout the state heard Muster Day plans at the regular commanders. meeting Feb. 1, of MaJ. Gen. Maxwell E. Rich, Utah Adjutant General. The participants partici-pants were commanding officers and key staff personnel from Guard units throughout Utah. Gen. Rich conducted the meeting meet-ing in Salt Lake City Armory No. 1.
