James Seastrand Presented Master M Man Award Chaplain James Seastrand, now serving in San Antonio, Texas, has been awarded his Master, M Man award, according to a letter received , by Paul L. Harmon from Chaplain Sea- strand's bishop. , Because the awards from Al pine Stake were made after Chaplain Seastrand's departure for Texas, Mr. Harmon, former stake MIA president, sent a letter let-ter and the award to the bishop In San Antonio. Chaplain Seastrand is the son of Mrs. Ernest Seastrand of this city. He graduated from Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University in 1954 and was assigned to Lackland Air Force Base,' San Antonio, Texas, in January this year. His wife is the former Roselle Rusch and they have a baby daughter, Pamela. He has always been active in the church having served as a Scout Master, Sunday School teacher, and president of the Elders Quorum. He served a two year mission to - Britain where he was branch president and later district president of the Nottingham Branch. Mr; and Mrs. Julius UL Hog-gard Hog-gard are proud as peacocks since the arrival of their infant son, Friday, August 28 in a Salt Lake City hospital The little boy weighed 0 pounds 5 ounces. Julie, 2Vx, could hardly wait to make the acquaintance of her new baby brother. The thrilled grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clifford C. Bennett, Lehi. Babies arriving at the local hospital during the past week included: August 28; -to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, Pleasant Grove, a boy. August 29; to Mr. and Mrs. Kay L. Jacobs, Pleasant Grove, a glrL August 30; to Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Brooks, American Fork, a boy. ? Holiday On Ice Members Represent Small United Nations Presented as an international Ice show, HOLIDAY ON ICE, in addition to having units all over the world, has a small United Nations look In Its American cast. The big revue, coming to the Utah State Fair on September Septem-ber 10, has on its payroll 125 skaters who speak a total : of nine languages and represent eleven countries. From the United States, over two thirds of the skaters spend leisure hours debating the merits of their home states and towns. From Washington to Maine and from Minnesota to Texas,' the discussions range daily. - Most of the other bladesters hall from Canada. Among the cities on our Northern border represented are Quebec, Montreal, Mont-real, Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Moosejaw (Saskatchewan). Virtually every province has at least one resident in HOLIDAY ONJCE this jeason. As far as other countries are concerned, HOLIDAY'S Master of Ceremonies, , although an American citizen, spent his childhood in Karachi, India and commands four languages fluently. flu-ently. As the show now has units in the Far East, dont be surprised if future editions present stars from Japan and other countries in the Orient. Several performers perform-ers have journeyed all over the free world since they Joined the giant ice production. Just IVi miles off the highway was the most fantastic of all mining towns, Silver Reef. Once a town of se veral thousand persons, now oily the red sandstone Wells-Fargo Bank building remains. This is the first spot In the country where silver was found in red sandstone without accompanying accompany-ing minerals. Many legends are extant regarding its origin and discovery.
