Eliza Grant Jackson The 83rd birthday of Eliza Grant Jackson, native of American Ameri-can Fork, was observed at her home in Pleasant Grove Sunday when friends and relatives called to wish her "Many Happy Returns". BACK-TC SIPGGOfiQH Humphries, Lynch Attend Dedication Of Dixie Hospital Mrs. Msud Humphlries, superintendent, super-intendent, and Mrs. Thelma Lynch, nurse In charge of the operating room at Community Hospital, returned re-turned to American Fork Sunday after being in attendance at the dedication of the Dixie Pioneer Memorial Hospital at St George, August 2. The two representatives at the dedication reported that the. new St. George hospital Is a 40-bed plant "with everything new". However, both women stated that "we are satisfied that our hospital can compare in every way with the hospital at St. George, which was planned by the same firm of architects". Fetzer and Fetzer, Salt Lake City, designed both hospitals, and father and sort were at the dedication. dedi-cation. , Before a huge crowd near the hospital, Lewis Hershey, head of the Blue Cross In Utah, Ray Kingston, King-ston, Utah State Board of Health, and the architects, gave addresses. Home From Denmark Miss Tyra Anderson Is back at her Job as nurse in the American Fork hospital after a two months absence spent in her native Denmark Den-mark and touring western Europe. She sent some time with her brothers and sisters and then took a train trip through north Germany, Ger-many, Belgium and France, spending spen-ding nine days In Paris which was culturally the highlight of the trip. She attended the Grand Opera and visited the Louvre and Versailles. Miss Anderson reported that there is plenty of merchandise in Denmark Den-mark but the people have very little money to mak the purchases purchas-es because of lack of export. Don Overly, recreation dlrec tor, said that the clinic will start on Aug. 11 at 8 p. m. on the Harrington School courts. There will be five clinics in all: Aug. 11-14-18-21-25 at p. m. The American Fork tennis tourney will begin on Aug. 18, and should draw many contest ants from all age brackets, Don said. The tourney will be played on Harrington and American Fork High School courts. Thurgood wad all-state high school tennis champ while he was a student at Provo High School. He played singles and doubles for Brigham Young University Un-iversity for four years. He won Provo City singles championship and was a member of the champion cham-pion doubles team for several years, and has been a ranking man in state tennis circles for several years.
