Driver Education Meet Set For BYU In August Aimed at promoting eafer driv ing on Utah's highways, a special Driver Education Institute for high school teachers will be held Aug. 29 through Sept. 3 at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University in Provo. Each school district in Utah should send at least one teacher to the .course, according to state offciials endorsing the program. The course will prepare teachers to instruct junior high and high school students in safe driving practices which will pay safety dividends .to every community in the state. - Orcanizations concerned with traffic safety which are cooperating cooperat-ing irr sponsoring "the- -institute are: Utah Safety Council, Utah State Press Ass'n., State Department Depart-ment of Public Instruction, Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers, Teach-ers, Utah State Road Patrol, Utah Automobile Dealers Assn., Extension Exten-sion Division, BYU, and department depart-ment of health, physical education, educa-tion, and recreation, BYU. The course will be taught by Marland K. Strasser of New York City, "driver training specialist for the American Ass'n. of Cas ualty and Surety Companies. Sessions of the institute will be held from 8 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. dally for five days at the university univer-sity campus, and two hours of university credit will be given each participant. Registration and books will be covered by a $10 enrollment fee and board and room will be available for $10 during the course if desired.
