Fork 756-3569 C: g Thomas Deodorants and Anti-perspirants Anti-perspirants According to the Handbook of Nonprescription Drugs, commercial commer-cial products to alleviate body odor have been sold since the late 1 800s. Americans now spend almost a billion dollars a year for deodorants deodor-ants and antiperspirants. Antiperspirants contain ingredients ingre-dients that either prevent or reduce the release of perspiration from the body. Antiperspirant ingredients include various salts of aluminum and zirconium. While antiperspirants antiperspi-rants are effective in reducing wetness, they do not totally prevent pre-vent it Repeated applications dur ing the day may be needed to achieve maximum effectiveness. But do not apply antiperspirants over perspiration. Ideally, products prod-ucts should be applied while the skin is dry. Deodorants do not inhibit the release of perspiration. Rather, they help reduce body odor by either ei-ther covering up the odor or by eliminating microorganisms that produce the odor. Antiperspirant ingredients are antibacterial and may serve as deodorants as well as reduce perspiration. ' Use of antiperspirants and deodorants de-odorants is not a substitute for good hygiene. In addition to regular bathing, shaving underarm hair may help by removing one of the breeding places of odor-producing hands of East in a 44-47 loss in American Fork. Two games later American Fork returned the favor, defeated East 73-61 in Salt Lake. It would be the only loss East would suffer, hz the freshman team went on the win the tournament. The American Fork team started the tournament with a 77-39 trouncing trounc-ing of Murray's 9th graders and then suffered a 48-51 loss at the hands of Highland. In the Junior Cavemen's final tournament appearance, they lost to West 56-68. By DEAN VON MEMMOTT OB's wrecked Middlekauf 110-97 110-97 in the championship game of the American Fork men's basketball league at American Fork High March 5. For the first few minutes, the contest truly was a championship - game. Middlekauf s Paul Huntsman Hunts-man opened the scoring with a layin. Suddenly, Todd Glover dropped in a three-pointer to give OB's its first ' lead of the game. The game stayed a seesaw fight until OB's broke a deadlocked score of 5-5 and pulled ahead 10-5. The Middlekaufers managed to march back to tie the game at 10. But no sooner did they catch up - when they found themselves trailing trail-ing again. OB top scorer John Melton ? slashed the tied score. For a little while afterwards, the Middlekaufers were able to stay on the OBers' heels thanks to shots like Robert Edwards' trey that put his team within 21-17. MiddlekaufiF was twice able to march within two points. However, three straight three-pointers three-pointers by Steve Dean put OB's more than 10 points up. His teammate team-mate Jeff Chatman, a former BYU Cougar, then heated up. Stuff shots by the ex-Cougar accented the point that OB's was in firm control of the contest. In the first halfs concluding minutes, Middlefkauf managed to come back within 47-44 on two straight Cal Houghton three-pointers. Scoring by Melton and Davy Dean kept the OBers from falling behind before halftime. Chatman opened the second half with a jump shot that touched another long scoring run for OB's. Houghton led Middlekauf to get within nine points early in the half, but Melton and Chatman both proved impossible for the Middlekaufers Mid-dlekaufers to shut. Pouring in a little more than 40 points together that period, the two OBers managed man-aged to keep their team up by more than 10. Midway through the half, Houghton and Brad Adamson led Middlekauff on a 12-8 scoring run, pulling within 87-81. Suddenly, OBer Bo Richards' three-pointer knocked out of Middlefauf the second sec-ond wind it had picked up. Middlekauff Mid-dlekauff never recovered from that shot. The OBers' score reached its century mark when Steve Dean canned his fourth and final trey. Melton led OB with 36 points. Chatman added 30, David Dean 16, Glover 15, and Steven Dean 12. Middlekauffs top scorer, Haughton made 43 points. Adam-son Adam-son added 16, Barry Gardner 14, and Huntsman 11. snvci ' LEE ROSEN HAN AUTOMOTIVE You'll find yourself in good hands!1 180 W.
