Show Lee Maughn Gourley PL GROVE- Former school principal Lee Maughn Gourley, of 6408 Davis, died Monday, at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. He was 67. ' He was born Dec. 5 1914, in Provo, a son of David and Dora Louise West Gourley. On May 28, 1948, he married Edna Bartholomew Bar-tholomew in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced. He married Carole Call Jensen on June 11, 1974, in Malad, Idaho. He was a principal in the Ogden Cily schools for 30 years. He had been principal at Hopkins Elementary, Lincoln Mound Fort andQuincy, He had coached at Central Junior High School. ; ' He ' was reared in Pleasant Grove and had lived in Duchesne, Minersville, Ogden and Mountain Green. He graduated from high school in Pleasant Grove and was a graduate of BYU where he lettered in track for four years. He was an active member of the Mountain Moun-tain Green LDS Ward. He was an elder and served as . Elder's quorum, instructor and Sunday school teacher. He had been active in scouting in the Ogden area. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theater. - Surving are his widow of Mountain Green; three sons, Brent Lee . Gourley, Farminglon; Chad Rex Gourley, Sail . Lake City; Kim Ernest Gourley, Ogden; three stepsons, Scot Jensen and Bob Jensen, both of Ogden; Russell Jensen, serving an LDS mission in England; three grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and five sisters, John Gourley, Pleasant Grove; George A. Gourley, West Jordan; Jor-dan; Rex S Gourley, Alpine; Richard Gourley, West Jordan; Ernest Gourley, and Mrs. Alma (Gertrude) Tranter both of Mid-vale; Mid-vale; Mrs. Phil (Maurine) Hatch, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lynn (June) Searle, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Frank (Ramona) Witney, ?pringville; Mrs. Ben Fawn) Bartholomew, Midvale. Friends may call at Lindquist .and Sons Colonial Chapel in Ogden Thursday from 6-8 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the ward chapel one hour prior to services. . Interment in the South Morgan Cemetery. Blake AMERICAN FORK-Elmer FORK-Elmer Andrew Blake, 82, American Fork; died Jan. 6,' 1982 at his reslderce. He was born April 24, 1899 1 in East Haven, Conn., a son of Andrew Forace and Nellie Terrell. Blake. He was nevernarried.. .4,, He was a commercial artist, active in the Boy Scouts of America, former employee of the City v Qf New Haven where he was a supervisor of traffic and sign department. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include three nephews, Philip T. Blake, American Fork; Jackson E. Blake, Gary, Maine; and Douglas T. Blake, Melford, Conn. ., Graveside services were held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the American Fork City Cemetery. ' PLEASANT GROVE-DianeWest GROVE-DianeWest Hiatt, 39, 610 S. 1300 E., Pleasant Grove, died January 10, 1982 at the Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City. She was born November 13, 1942 in American Fork to Thomas E. and Ula Myers West. She married Ray Lynn Hiatt, Jr., July 30, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She attended schools in Pleasant Grove and Utah Technical College. She was a member of I he LDS Church living in the Pleasant Grove Eighth Ward. Survivors include her husband, one son and one daughter: David Lynn and Lisa Diane Hiatt, both of Pleasant Grove; her parents of Pleasant Grove; a brother, Douglas E. West, American Fork. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Eighth Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cily Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steven Hiatt, Russell Hiatt, Kirk Carting, Doug West, Allen Smith, Steve Weber, Blaine Neil and Victor Wm. Neil. Conducting the services ser-vices was Don Dodge of the Eigth Ward bishopric. The family prayer was given by Ray L. Hiatt, Sr., and the invocation was offered by Russell Eugene Hiatt. Speakers were Steven Weber, Bishop Ralph Pitts and a tribute by Darla Smith. A vocal solo was presented by Don Dodge and an instrumental in-strumental duel was given with Mae Bezzant on the violin and Chester Stone on the organ. They played "Somewhere My Love." The closing prayer was given by Doug West and I he dedicat ion of I he grave was by Blaine Neil. Luncheon was served at the church after I lie services. LEHI- Jerry Lee Bowers, 23, died January 9, 1982 in the Utah Valley Hospital, Provo. He was born March 19, 1958 in American Fork, a son of Gene and Etta May Nielson Bowers. He married Shana Lynn Williams on August 20, 1976. They were later divorced. He was a member of the LDS Church. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove and lx?hi. He had worked as a hod lender locally and recent ly worked in los Angeles. Survivors include two sons, David and Jarrid Bowers, both of American Fork; parents of Lindoo; four brothers: Tony, Dee, Val and Coy, all of Lindon; grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nielson, Pleasant Grove, and Mrs. Jeanette Bowers, Kanab. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Lehi First-Sixth First-Sixth Ward Chapel. Burial was in the American Fork Cily Cemetery. She was born July 12, 1975 in Omaha, Neb. Survivors are her parents of Aurora, Colorado; one brother and three sisters : Lance G., Darlene, Sabrina and Crystal, all of Aurora; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Powell, Lehi; Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Pike of Spanish Fork; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Van Wagoner of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Dart Otto Bybee of Grandview, Idaho; and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar D. Pike, Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel.', The prelude and postlude music was played by. Margaret Powell, an aunt. Darrel G. Powell, an uncle, offered the prayer with family members. Max D. Powell, an uncle, announced the services. James W. Strong presided at the service. The opening prayer was offered by Fred Broadbenl. Fran Brown, an aunt, gave the biographical sketch. Nancy's aunts sang a musical number. They were' Caroline Briggs, Marthella Pike, Leola Pike and Codele Cutler. Speakers .who com forted with their sympathetic - messages were Antoine Powell, an uncle and Frank J. Pike, her grandfather. , Kim Powell, an aunt, rendered a musical number.
