LT on Aug. 2.'i. 1920. the tenth child of Lras-tus Lras-tus and Aril-lia Aril-lia Bastian. She grew up in Hayden where she met and married Melvin (Keb) Wilson on April IS. 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. They are the parents o( eight children. Melvin died in 1971 and Flora was left to raise the family. She did so with great determination and hard work. She was employed em-ployed for many years by J.C. Penney in American Fork and by American Fork Hospital. Her honesty, work ethic, dignity and sense of humor in difficult times are a wonderful legacy she leaves her family. Flora was an active member of the LUS church and held various callings throughout her life. She enjoyed people and was happi est in a crowd. She volunteered at the Lehi Senior Citizen Center lecause "someone had to feed those old people." loved to travel, play games and spent time with her dear friends. F'lora especially loves a good party and was the life of each one she attended. The most important thing in her life is her family. She is survived by her children. Julia Anna Holmes Smith LEHI - Julia Anna Holmes Smith The sun was shining, the sky w as blue. Spring had finally arrived ar-rived It was a good day to go home On April 18. 2008 Julia Anna Holmes Smith peacefully peace-fully slipped through tears of sorrow and the loving arms of her dear husband, children, chil-dren, grandchildren and friends and w as met through tears of joy into the arms of many family, friends and loved ones that longed for her return. Her passing w as the result of a recently diagnosed disease known as Pulmonary Fibrosis. Julia was born July 19, 1933 in Liberty Utah to Sarah Ann Chard Holmes and Robert F Holmes. She had many fond memories of growing up in "The V alley". Having been born into a large family, there was never the lack of adventure, hard work and fun. She had 6 sisters and 6 brothers. When she spoke about her family, fam-ily, she always included herself as "one of the boys". She loved ' the outdoors and would rather be helping her father with farming chores than being stuck indoors doing "girl" things. Julia made her home in Lehi after marrying Richard Maxfield Smith in the Salt Lake Temple on November 19. 1954. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a true friend in every sense of the word. Anyone who knew Julia could depend on her for anything including a hot meal, a loaf of bread, a good laugh, a kind deed, a heartfelt hug. the "remedy" or free veterinary services. You felt like you were the most important person to Julia, even if you had just met her. Julia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings from Relief Society Soci-ety President to Nursery Leader. For the last several years she and Richard have enjoyed doing extraction work together in their home. She was a great example of charity, service and faith to her family. She set the standard high and it is now up to those of us left behind to follow her example. She is survived by her husband hus-band of Lehi: three sons and one daughter. Shane (Collette) Smith. Clifford Bert Laycock passed away Saturday April 19th surrounded sur-rounded by loving family members, He fought a courageous cou-rageous battle with aggressive aggres-sive cancer. Clifford was born in American Fork. Utah September 24. 1931. His parents were Albert (Bert) Laycock & Helen Kooyman Laycock. He attended schools in American Ameri-can Fork. Utah. After graduating from High School, he joined the U.S. navy. He served aboard the USS Porterfield during the Korean War. After his military service, he met and later married Carol Stevenson. Ste-venson. They spent over 52 wonderful won-derful years together. They were parents of four daughters. Valerie (Brent) Strong. Sue (Mike) Stras-burg. Stras-burg. Leisa L. Cunningham, and Sandra (Brian) Magann. They had 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Clifford is survived by 4 brothers broth-ers and 2 sisters. Shirley (Jim) Stevenson. Payson. Spanish Fork. Cliff is survived by many nieces and nephews as well. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Art, sister-in-law Margaret Laycock, and sister-in-law Lola Laycock, Paternal and Maternal Grandparents. Cliff was always handy with his hands. He loved to make things out of wood. Much which is treasured by family fam-ily and friends alike. There will be many memories of Clifford from the work of his hands. By trade, he was a brick mason. There are many structures in the area that are a result of his handiwork. His favorite hobbies were, fishing and hunting. Cliff and Carol resided in Payson since his retirement. He prided himself with a beautiful yard. Viewing will be held at the Anderson An-derson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N. American Fork, Utah, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 and from 11:45-12:45 prior to the services at the church. Monte Robert (Bob) Bennett Bob Bennett, 80. of Alpine, passed away April 21. 2008 in American Fork. He was born Dec 13. 1927 in Alpine Al-pine to Mark Harrison and Sarah Gertrude Ger-trude Healey Bennett. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Bob married his sweetheart Ethel Elizabeth Cardwell Aug 14, 1950 in the Manti Temple and they raised seven children. He retired from Geneva Steel. Bob w as an active scout er as a scout master and received his Silver Beaver. Bob and Ethel served an LDS Temple Mission to the Chicago and Washington DC Temples. Bob loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Survived by his children, Con-nielyn Con-nielyn (Kerry) Perkins; Lynn Dale Bennett; Jay R.
