Another organization took over the sponsorship of the meeting that was held Monday night at the American Fork library. Should PTAs be able to hold meetings at public schools about the subject of same sex attraction? Why or why not? S it'-. rb ' ,. . L .," I L Lial I r,llx "I guess I would say yes. It's important that information get out ... Parents often don't do it or don't know how. Some just leave it to the schools. I could see where schools speak to parents on how they can communicate com-municate more efficiently with their children. Sometimes good information can go bad. It might trigger or open up topics that they wouldn't otherwise talk about. It's a very touchy situation. I have a nephew who has gone through this. It's so important to be caring, loving and positive.'' Leo Hall "Well, I don't support same sex attraction so 1 would probably prob-ably fight against that. But probably any other type of meetings would be fine. I just don't know that I want to push that at a high school." I Danette Gardner "I think that the PTA should listen to parents and act ac- cordingly. If parents feel they need to talk about it as a group I'm for it, yes." I Ruth Ann Andreason "Well then this shouldn't involve the school or pull their rank as PTA into any of it. See, that's the meeting at the library a great solution to the problem." Steffani Nielson "I guess I'd have to say yes. they should be able to. As a parent, I don't know if that should be associated with the PTA. I think them giving the meeting might inspire kids to do things they were never in favor of. I don't know. It's a mixed bag." But if they're in favor of it, no. Students would be like 'Same sex attraction, are they try ing to tell us something?' some-thing?' " i Matt Gowans "Yes. So they can get the is- "Yes. Robert Redd "Well, they could hold a forum fo-rum to discuss it. I don't see a problem with discussing it, offering of-fering alternatives, resources, whatever." i Lee McQuivey Utah Lake Commission to hold public open house The Utah Lake Commission Commis-sion is holding the second of two public open houses today as part of their Utah Lake master planning process, entitled Awake Utah Lake, in order to introduce the Master Plan project and seek public input.
