As owner of Waste Can Washers, a business run from Pleasant Grove that offers garbage can cleaning for residents resi-dents throughout Utah County, Coun-ty, Plat Is works with a power washer to take the stink out of the area. "( hir slogan is 'We take the stink out of your garbage can,' " Platts said. Waste Can Washers uses high power, steam washers to clean out garbage cans. They use only hot water and sanitiz-er sanitiz-er air freshener, not chemicals. Platts's trailer that he brings to his client's homes also collects col-lects all garbage and debris in a drain so that it does not go down a drain. "Basically, people sign up and I go to their house, get their garbage can and clean it out there," Platts said. "When I am done, I put the garbage can back near the garage so that they know it has been cleaned." To sign up, customers can select packages, or single cleanings. Platts said that after deciding decid-ing he wanted to start a business busi-ness in the field, it took him a month to get his equipment and get started cleaning cans. Waste Can Washers has been open for three years, and has doubled its customer base each year from the year before. Platts said that although it is sometimes difficult to clean the cans, he has enjoyed getting to know many people throughout the county. "That is the best part, working work-ing with the people who live here," Platts said. Embassy Suites groundbreaking Groundbreaking for the Embassy Suites Hotel and its adjoining 120,000-square-foot convention center will be on Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. on site at 188 S. Embassy Grove Parkway. The project groundbreaking groundbreak-ing marks John Q. Hammon Hotels and Resort's debut into Utah County with its Embassy Suites full-service hotel. Part of an area known as The Grove, the hotel and convention center plan has attracted more than 20 other projects totaling 500,000 square feet of retail space and 1 million square feet of office space. Daniels anticipates 10 other groundbreakings at The Grove will take place before 2008. The site for the Embassy Suites groundbreaking can be reached by taking exit 275 on the Pleasant Grove Lindon Interstate 15 interchange inter-change and looking for the project site southeast of the freeway. Harward joins local practice Kory Harward, DO, has joined the OBGYN practice prac-tice of Drs. Jae Baxter and Wayne Young at the In-termountain In-termountain Central Orem Clinic. Harward completed his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University and his medical training at Des Moines University-Os-teopathic Medical Center. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. He is a junior fellow in the American College of Obstetrics Obstet-rics and Gynecology.
