SCERA 'Cinderella' to open this Friday When the SCERA Center for the Arts in Orem presents Rodgers and Hammerstein musical mu-sical "Cinderella" March 3-27, audiences will see that the set and lights and especially the costumes and makeup have as great a starring role as do the performers. That's because director Min-dy Min-dy Young and set and costume designer Arnold Bueso are creating cre-ating the feeling of Commedia deU'Arte with colorful, extravagant extrava-gant and exaggerated designs. "SCERA has this fantastic opportunity op-portunity to w&Vk with Bueso, a designer from Miami, Fla., who is fun to collaborate with because of his passion for creativity," Young said. "With his help, we are creating creat-ing a big, beautiful storybook that comes to life onstage." "We are also getting some of our ideas from fantasy artist James C. Christensen," Young said. "I hope jaws will drop from our over-the-top costume designs. They are shape-oriented and very sharp."
