Show NORTH COUNTY NEWSPAPERS Page 3 Thursday, December 1, 2005 Pnlirp SELECTED INCIDENTS American Fork RETAIL THEFT - A 22-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested for retail theft and possession of marijuana. Officers responded to a report of the subjects sub-jects at a local business, where they had attempted to change the prices on several items. They were searched incident to arrest and officers of-ficers found them to be in possession posses-sion of marijuana. DISORDERLY CONDUCT - A 16-year-old boy was cited for disorderly disor-derly conduct. Officers responded to the American Fork High School on a report that a boy had thrown a backpack at another student, a girl. The back pack had hit her in the face. The female's face was red and swollen. ASSAULT - Two 20-year-old women were arrested for assault and outstanding arrest warrants. Officers responded to a report of a fight between the two women. They found that both the women had assaulted each other during an argument. Officers found that both women also had outstanding arrest warrants. AGGRAVATED ASSAULT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - A 28-year-old man was arrested for aggravated ag-gravated assault, assault domestic violence and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to a report of a family fight. A witness wit-ness was changing a flat tire on his vehicle. He heard a woman screaming. The woman was sitting sit-ting in a parked car in a parking lot. The 28- year-old man's hands were inside the vehicle and he was assaulting as-saulting the woman. The witness, started to walk toward the man, yelling at him to leave the woman alone. The suspect then went inside in-side an apartment and came out with a bat, threatening the witness. The witness called police and the suspect was arrested without further fur-ther incident. RETAIL THEFT - A 47-year-old man was arrested for retail theft after af-ter he tried to change the price on a pair of shoes at a local business. ILLEGAL CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL - Two 19- year-old men, a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were cited for illegal il-legal consumption of alcohol after officers observed a suspicious vehicle at a local park. The officer found the occupants to be in possession pos-session of alcohol by minors. Cedar Fort ASSAULT - Officers responded to a report of two adult men fighting fight-ing at a home on Nov. 5. Police broke up the fight. No charges were filed. No injuries were reported. re-ported. BREACH OF TRUST - An incident inci-dent that was initially reported as a vehicle theft turned out to be a case of breach of trust. The owner of a dump truck reported the truc.k missing and presumed stolen. Of ficers recovered the truck in South Jordan. Someone known by the owner had borrowed the dump truck without permission. The truck was returned. No charges were filed. Cedar Hills ARREST - A 19-year-old man was arrested for failure to obey an officer and an outstanding arrest ar-rest warrant. Officers responded to a report of a family fight. Upon their arrival, the man ran from the police, but he was apprehended. It was found that he had an outstanding outstand-ing arrest warrant. He then picked up a table and threw it. The incident occurred oc-curred in front of the couple's child. BURGLARY ARREST - A 19-year-old man was arrested for burglary and theft after officers responded to a report of a theft. The man had trespassed at his parents par-ents home. He was observed at the home in the garage area. He then attempted to take a saw he had stolen from the garage to a local pawn shop to pawn it. The saw is valued at $400. A witness observed the suspect at the pawn shop and he called police who responded and arrested the man without further fur-ther incident. Lehi TRESPASSING - Police investigated inves-tigated a residential trespassing report on Nov. 21 at approximately 8 a.m. in downtown Lehi and transported trans-ported a man to jail for outstanding warrants, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and driving while on suspension. WARRANT SERVED - An officer ushered a man in northeast Lehi to jail on Nov. 21 at 11:38 a.m. for a warrant for his arreant, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and possession of Methadose without a perscription. JUVENILE PROBLEM - The police po-lice department was called on Nov. 21 on teenagers trespassing on northeast Lehi property at approximately approxi-mately 6:30 p.m. Officers cited four juveniles for trespassing, criminal mischeif, disorderly conduct, interfering inter-fering with an arrest, and contributing contribut-ing to the delinquent of a minor. BURGLARY - A window was broken to gain entry into Lehi High School on Nov. 22 and a computer was stolen. The investigation is ongoing. A walletnd a backpack were also reported stolen the same day at the school. THEFT A wallet was reported stolen from a Legacy Center locker on Nov. 21. THEFT Appliances were stolen from a home under construction in northeast Lehi on Nov. 22. DOMESTIC A woman was arrested ar-rested when she assaulted a man at a downtown business on Nov. 23. SIMPLE ASSAULT - Police arrested ar-rested a man on Nov. 24 at 9:10 a.m. for reckless endangerment, trespass of real property and five warrants. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - Officers Offi-cers gave a no-contact order to the husband and wife when a family fight between spouses erupted on Nov. 28 in northwest Lehi. 010111 RECOVERED STOLEN CAR Officer Chris Rockwood spotted spot-ted a suspicious man walking into an apartment early last Friday morning at 600 N. 400 West. When Rockwood ran the plate on the black 1 997 Toyota Camry the man had been driving, it came back stolen out of Pleasant Grove. Officers Of-ficers knocked on the apartment door to search for the driver and were allowed to enter and search. Officers found the driver hiding in an attic and arrested 27-year-old Rodolfo Velaquez, of Orem. The officers found the attic door askew and figured Velaquez had to be up there. They yelled repeatedly for him to show himself and finally threatened to put a dog in the attic to find him. He was booked into the Utah County jail for possession of a stolen car. BREAK IN - Officers responded to an alarm call early Monday morning and found that someone had thrown a rock through the glass front door of Mad Mac Computers Com-puters at 1407 S. State. It looks like the suspect(s) may have gone into the store, but nothing was found missing by employees that came to check on the business. STOLEN CAR A woman reported report-ed her white 1990 Chevy Cavalier stolen sometime Friday morning from the parking lot of Denny's at 485 N. State. The car was unlocked and the key left in the ignition. STOLEN CAR - A 1998 Mercury Mystique was reported stolen Saturday Sat-urday morning in the area of 900 E. 1100 North. The owner reported that it had been left unlocked and a set of keys had been left in the center console. GRAFFITI ARREST - On Sunday evening at about 7p.m., a citizen spotted a group of boys behind Al-bertsons Al-bertsons (25 W. Center) marking up the side of the building with spray paint. Most of the group left in an silver Chevy Lumina, but officers were able to locate and arrest a 16-year-old Orem youth who had run away on foot. The suspect has gang ties and has already been arrested ar-rested a time or two before for doing do-ing graffiti. The boy had a juvenile Orem-Based Sean Curzon, do Peter Duros, md Walstir Fonseca, md Kent Marshall, md pickup order (warrant) on him and was booked into the Slate Canyon youth detention facility. The other boys involved have not yet been located. WEEKEND Orem police averaged aver-aged only 82 reports a day over the holiday, down from the normal average av-erage of about 135. There were 40 traffic accidents over the weekend, but only two that involved injuries, and those were minor. On the balance, bal-ance, it was a pretty good weekend in Orem. Pleasant Grove ASSAULT - Officers responded to a supermarket parking lot, making mak-ing contact with two motorists regarding re-garding an assault detail. Medical was dispatched and responded to provide medical assistance to one of the motorists involved. The other oth-er motorist was arrested for assault and for driving on suspension. ASSAULT Officers responded to a fight where a man had driven through a business. The man was arrested for various charges. DISORDERLY CONDUCT - An employee of a business reported two men were involved in a fight in the parking lot. Officers met with the suspectvictim but he did not want to press charges against the other suspect who fled on foot. The door was unlocked. un-locked. The victim confronted the suspect who fled on foot. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - Officers responded to a residence and found a window had been broken out of the residence. There was a 2 x 4 on the ground next to the window. The reporting party had had an argument with a subcontractor subcon-tractor early at 1 p.m. and at 1 :30 p.'m. the reporting party found the window broken. The suspect was trespassed from the residence as a result of the verbal argument. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - Police responded to 200 West State regarding re-garding a report that juveniles were throwing eggs at vehicles from the train trestle that spans State Street. One car sustained body damage as a result of the egging. Police were unable to locate any suspects as a result of the initial investigation. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - The owners of seven vehicles reported windows broken out of their parked vehicles. Vehicles were in several different locations. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM Officers responcted to a service station regarding found property. A short time later the employee found a plastic bag containing marijuana where the man had been standing. The marijuana was entered into evidence as found property. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM - A man was arrested on a traffic stop for several traffic offenses and a drug charge. He was taken to the police department and later released on a citation. THEFT - A cell phone and $20 were reported stolen from a locker at the high school. THEFT - A Coleman camp tent, and outdoor folding table were reported re-ported stolen from a residence. THEFT - A woman reported she had left her purse in a shopping cart in the parking lot after shopping shop-ping at a grocery store. Upon returning to the store, the purse was gone. Missing is a ring valued at $6,000, the purse and miscellaneous miscella-neous items. Saratoga Springs AGGRAVATED ASSAULT - An aggravated assault with a knife was reported to police on Nov. 27.
