MARC ANDRUS Aubri Rino weds Marc Andrus in Oakland Temple SGERA Children's Choir announces winter registration The SCERA Children's Chorus under the direction of Susan Abbott and Emilee Knell continues contin-ues its fifth season with the 2000 winter session. SCERA President Norm Nielsen says, "Susan has taken to heart our ideals that the arts should be a learning experience, not only in music education and performing experiences but in good basic values of cooperation, accomplishment and self-esteem." ..;".v ; . ' i The 4-month winter choir term, which will run January 5 through May 18, 2000, will cul- minate with several public spring concerts for the more than 100 children involved. Continuing Continu-ing and new students ages 3 to 15 are encouraged to participate. Classes will receive a foundation in rhythm, sing music from famous fa-mous composers and folk songs from around the world, explore instruments and play fun singing sing-ing games. Registration is now open and. will continue through the end of January. Aubri is the daughter of Ralph and Terri Rino of Orem and the granddaughter of David and Dorethy Hollingshead, also of Orem. After a four year break, the family-oriented community theater, the-ater, Valley .Center Playhouse (VCP) announces the reopening of its Youth Theater at 780 North 200 East in Lindon, Utah. For .. over twelve years, owner Jody Renstrom and staff, taught and directed the recitals and performances perfor-mances of hundreds of young people. Producer, Keith Renstrom said, "We are excited once again to offer these classes to the youth of our community." Classes for youth ages eight through sixteen will be taught. Beginners will meet on Tuesdays 4-5 p.m., Intermediates will meet Tuesdays 5-6 p.m., and the Advanced Ad-vanced class will meet on Thursdays Thurs-days from 4-6 p.m. Each class will run for twelve weeks ending with an opportunity for every student to perform. This year Shiela Heindel of Lehi, Utah will instruct the classes and direct hte performing perform-ing group. She has spent thirty six years entertaining as an actress, ac-tress, theater workshop instructor, instruc-tor, puppeteer, and director. Mrs. Heindel holds a masters degree in Child Drama from BYU and is currently a part time faculty member of the Theater and Me- . dia Arts Department at the university. uni-versity.
