The kiosk is a multi media system that provides public access to the Utah State Courts. Several options are offered of-fered to individuals for obtaining obtain-ing information concerning cer tain processes of the Utah State Courts. The system has been in effect since November 28, 1995. Comprehensive information on filing a small claims lawsuit, judgement collections, Alternative Alterna-tive Dispute Resolution (ADR), and legal resources are provided by the kiosk system. The Quick-Court Quick-Court kiosk will also allow individuals in-dividuals to prepare their own landlord-tenant claims and uncontested un-contested divorce documents for a $10 fee, or the user may print blank forms that can be prepared and filed with the court at a later time. The way QuickCourt works is simple. For example, a person who is interested in filing a landlord-tenant action may go to the nearest court or library that has a kiosk. The kiosk begins when the user touches the video screen that introduces them to the program. ' The program does all the calculations cal-culations and prepares the legal documents on a built-in laser printer, along with instructions on which documents to keep, which ones they must serve on either landlord or tenant, and which documents they must file with the court. The local QuickCourt kiosk available to the public is located at the Fourth District Court, 125 North 100 West, Provo, Utah. |
