Orem Community Bank has named H. Paul Matthews as Vice President of Lending and Com- Eliance for the newlocally-owned anking organization. , According to Mr. Hal J. Allen, president of the Orem Community Com-munity Bank, Matthews will direct the various business loan products available at the bank including in-cluding SBA and FMHA loans. Consumer loans and real estate loans will also be directed by the new vice president. Mr. Matthews has nearly 13 years in banking. Orem-Geneva Times : 225-1340 Storage units burn Orem firefighters responded to a call at 10:45 a.m. Thursday to find five storage units at 1630 S. 740 East fully engulfed. Firemen were able to contain the fire and restrict the fire from spreading beyond the five units. However, a vehicle parked near the storage units was damaged. Lt. Terry Taylor said the fire is under investigation and appears ap-pears suspicious. Damage is estimated es-timated at $5,000. THEFT A Motorola cellular telephone was taken from an unlocked vehicle at 200 S. State. The report was made Thursday morning. Value of the phone is $250. Taylor said someone is stealing steal-ing money from US WEST pay telephones. It appears someone has a key, he said, and is asking that people call the local police department if they notice something some-thing suspicious near pay phones. BART ANTHONY Realtor receives honor Bart Anthony received the 19921993 Presidential Award from outgoing Association President Presi-dent Rita Hales for his outstanding outstand-ing work and dedication to the Utah County Association of REALTORS. The award was presented during the Utah County Association Associa-tion of REALTORS annual Membership Mem-bership Installation Luncheon at the Provo Elks Lodge. Bart served as the chairperson chairper-son for the annual Home Expo for 19921993 and will continue to serve in this position for the coming com-ing year. He also has had his real estate license for the past five years and is currently associated with Summit Realty. Businesses burglarized Two tmsinesses reported burglaries last Tuesday morning. Lt. Terry Taylor said entry to a business at 1775 S. State was made by removing bars from a window and $230 in cash was stolen. Two generators valued at $2,700 were taken from a warehouse at 1500 W. 130 South. Method of entry was unknown. Taylor said the theft occurred between be-tween August 25 and 28. BURGLARY Approximately $3,000 worth of property was stolen last Tuesday Tues-day night from two vehicles and a boat at 100 N. -1000 West. Listed stolen were a compact disc player, speakers, water skis, a radio and life jackets. Lt. Gerald Nielsen said a window win-dow was pried open to gain entry in one car and the other was unlocked. un-locked. Yard sale for RAH A yard sale to raise funds for athletic equipment for Recreation for All Handicapped (RAH) will be held Saturday, Sept 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 815 N. 800 West in Provo. LDS Public Relations Practitioners create new association On Saturday, September 18, 1993, the first meeting of the Association As-sociation of LDS Public Relations Professionals will be held in room 388 of the Brigham Young University Univer-sity Ernest L. Wilkinson Student Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The association was created to "provide opportunities for LDS public relations professionals to come together to network and to discuss matters of mutual interest," inter-est," said Bruce L. Olsen, managing manag-ing director of the LDS Public Affairs Af-fairs Department and acting president of the association. "This is something we've wanted to do for a long time," Olsen said. "Although the organization or-ganization had a founder's meeting meet-ing last year in Kansas City, this will be our first regular annual meeting.
