The resolution calls for the housing authority to apply for 16 units of public housing. These will be new construction. Mayor S. Blaine Willes was authorized to sign a cooperative agreement with the housing authority to make application for the federal Miner Family Special Memorial The Springville City Cemetery will be the setting for a very special Memorial Day Service for many Miner families as they gather as one family to pay tribute to their pioneer ancestors, Albert Miner and Tamma Durfee Miner Curtis. Although Springville will be the site of the service, many from all over the state of Utah wfll be in attendance. Over a hundred years ago, a beautiful sandstone marker was lovingly placed on the grave of Tamma Durfee Miner Curtis after her death January 30, 1885. It also served as a tribute to her husband, to Utah with other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints looking look-ing for a new home in the West. During this past year this pioneer headstone was found by family members in pieces, the casualty of a heavy windstorm. To the credit of Albert and Tamma Miner, today several family organizations exist to foster family unity, gather family histories and promote genealogy work. The latest project they have banded together to undertake is replacing her headstone. A new, fullsize, fat stone is now in place, and serves as a memorial to both Tamma and her first husband Albert Al-bert Miner, as well as her two subsequent husbands, Enos Curtis Cur-tis and John White Curtis, and all their children. Tamma's descendants will meet at the cemetery Monday, May 27, at 11:00 a.m. for a short re-dedication ceremony. A short biography and tribute will be presented, and pioneer music will Complete hearing evaluations evalu-ations by licensed, certified audiologists, with results available to your physician. "We attempted to create a focal point for the campus that would facilitate interaction and serve as a prime location for outside out-side concerts and activities," said Grassli. "We set out to develop an . area where students and visitors to the campus could relax and interact in a natural setting." Concrete and lawn steps create cre-ate an open amphitheater. "These elements capture the essence of integrating the existing buildings and fountain," said Grassli. The letters pJH stand for potential of hydrogen.
