He was born Dec. 27, 1909 in White Rock, a Bon of William L. and Dora Moosman Collings. He married Eva May Wilkinson Sept. 22, 1934 in Orem. The marriage was later solemnized solem-nized in the Provo IDS Temple. He was a carpenter and loved to sheer sheep. At the time of his death he was a High Priest in the Orem Park First LDS Ward. Survivors include his wife of Orem; four sons and five daughters: Dennis Collings, Lehi; Gerald W. Collings, Mapleton; Harold S. Collings, Springville; Bruce E. Collings, Jerri Taylor, Mrs. Odell (Lyn) Erickson, all ofOrem;Mrs. Gary (Brenda) Winters, Mrs. Neil (Lee) Persson, both of Pleasant Grove; Mrs.' Kay (Pat) Robinson, Highland; 56 grandchildren; 52 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters: Horrace Collings, Washington; Thoral Collings, Murray; Mur-ray; Alta Downs, Idaho; Iris Tope, Oregon; Nola Briggs, Orem. Three brothers preceded him in death, Clark, Otto and Burl. Funeral was held Tuesday in the Orem Park First LDS Ward Chapel, Orem. She married Noel Jay Hoist September 28, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The marriage was solemnized December 18, 1965 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. He died November 21, 1984. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a Primary teacher and a Cub Scout den leader. She enjoyed tennis and shopping. Survivors include two sons: Noel Tyler Hoist, Orem; Kevin Paul Hoist, Venice, CA; 6 grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Tyler Alston, Magrath, Alberta, Canada; Doug AUton, Serving as LDS Mission President in Nigeria, Africa; Hope Alston, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Orem Sharon Park 8th Ward, 85 East 700 North, Orem. Julia Williams Julia Annetta Staffers Williams, 85, died Sept 19, 1990 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center of causes incident in-cident to age. She was born March 13, 1905 in Alton, Wyo., to Larona Henry and Julia Ann Kennington Staffers. She married James T. Williams Aug. 25, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was the sister of Wayne L. Staffers Staf-fers or Orem. Funeral was held Saturday in Provo. Burial was in the Provo City Cemetery. Ha Stone Ila Iona Cutler Butterfield Stone, 79, died Sept. 17, 1990, in Orem. She was born Sept. 29, 1910 in Onyx, Bannock, Idaho, to Ethan Freeman and Ida Ella Lash Cutler. She married Charles Robert Butter-field, Butter-field, Aug. 15, 1928 in Pocatello, Idaho. He died. She married Clouide Stone in February 1989. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had worked with the youth programs, and in the Relief Society. She served aa a leader of youth activities on both ward and stake levels. She loved to travel with her husband hus-band to sport events for the church athletics programs in Idaho Montana and Canada. She loved her yard and beautiful flowers. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Dennie D. Butterfield, Orem; Darns G. Butterfield, Island Park, Idaho; one step-daughter, Mar-jean Mar-jean Petersen, Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters: William "Bill" Cutler, Pocatello, Idaho; Jennie Crockett Lambert, West Point, Calif.; Betty Cutler Howell, McCammon, Idaho; Lula Cutler McNelley, Huntington. Karen Walters Karen Laruie Hislaw Walters, 35, died Sept. 18, 1990, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. She was born Oct 31, 1954inRapid City, S.D., to Lawrence T. and Ethel Marion Edwards Hislaw. She received her education in Sunnyvale, Sun-nyvale, Calif., and graduated from Sunnyvale High School. She moved to Provo in 1978, where she was employed at Signetics. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. - She is survived by two sons, Paul Cleveland, Alan R. Sidney Wood Sidney Jay Wood, 76, ofOrem.died September 24, 1990, at the Utah Valley Val-ley Regional Medical Center in Provo, from complications following open heart surgery. He was born August 21, 1914, in Crawford, Delta County, Colorado, the third son and fourth child of William Wil-liam James and Mae Isabella McGregor Mc-Gregor Wood. He married Lola M. Garrett September 9, 1934 in Delta, Colorado. The marriage was solemnized solem-nized October 26, 1968 in the Oakland Oak-land LDS Temple. He graduated from Crawford High School in 1931 and attended Woodbury Wood-bury Business College in Los Angeles, California. He had sufficient credits to graduate, but did not choose to do so because fishing season had started in Colorado and he chose not to attend graduation exercises. ' . He was a convert to the LDS Church, and was ordained a Seventy to serve a stake mission. He worked for Lockheed Ai rcr aft as a personnel officer during World War II, and then for thirty years in Employment Security Offices for California and Utah. He retired from the Provo office in 1981, and for the last nine years has worked as a starter and course marshall at Timpanogos, Tim-panogos, Tri-City, Spanish Oaks, and Cascade Golf Courses. Fall Clean Up scheduled The Annual Fall Clean Up for Orem is scheduled to begin Saturday, Satur-day, Oct. 13, and will continue until Saturday, Oct 27, according to Stewart Cowley, management assistant at Public Works. During the Fall Clean Up, Orem residents wfll be allowed to dump at the Die irict Landfill free of charge, says Cowley. Residents must present identification, such as a driver's license with their Orem address, or an Orem utility bill, verifying they are Orem residents. Anyone attempting to enter the landfill area with an uncovered un-covered or unsecured loan will not be allowed free entry, but will be assessed the usual fee of $2.50 per load or $17.50 per ton depending depend-ing on the size of the vehicle. The North Utah County District Dis-trict Landfill is located at approximately ap-proximately 2000 North 2000 West, Orem. During the Fall Clean Up the landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. LDS Women's Meeting slated for September 29 The annual General Women's Meeting of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29, in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. The meeting will be televised via satellite to some 3,000 gatherings gather-ings of women in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Haiti, the West Indies, and the Dominican Republic. It will be broadcast live at 6 p.m. mountain time over the Church's satellite network and rebroadcast at 8 p.m. that evening eve-ning on both the satellite network and on KBYU-TV, Channel 11, Provo. A member of the First Presidency of the Church will address ad-dress the gathering as will Elaine L. Jack, general president of the Relief Society, the worldwide women's organization of the Church; Ardeth G. Kapp, general president of the Young Women, and Betty Jo N. Jepsen, first counselor in the General Presidency of the primary children's organization. Those encouraged to attend the meetings at the Tabernacle and the satellite locations include all women in the Church ten years of age and older.
