Clegg, son of Carl B. and Grace Clegg, also of Orem, on Friday, June 29, 1990 at the Jordan River m Temple. The groom's parents will hostl a wedding breakfast at the River-boat River-boat following the ceremony. A reception will honor the couple that evening from seven to nine at The Bungalow. She will graduate from Bngham Young University next April and plans to teach third grade in Jordan Jor-dan School District this fall. She has been working with BYU Youth and Family Programs for the past four summers. Her fiance also is a graduate of Orem High and LDS Seminary. He is attendingUtah Valley Community Com-munity College and plans to enter the University of Utah to study physical therapy. He served in the Denver Colorado Mission. Richards of Orem, will marry John W. Mackay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Mackay of Orem, Thursday, June 28, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A reception will honor the couple Friday evening, June 29, from seven to nine at the Howard Webb residence, 960 S. 550 E., Orem. The event is open to all friends and relatives. The bride-elect is a graduate of Mountain View High School and Utah Valley Community College. Col-lege. She attended Brigham Young University where she was active in cheerleading and participated par-ticipated in the Jerusalem Study Abroad Program. She served an LDS Spanish-speaking mission in Los Angeles, California. Her fiance was graduated from Orem High School and Dartmouth College. She also will be part of a recital to be held in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square, Sunday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. All friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. Trisha is one of twelve young pianists from Utah who have been selected to study and perform per-form at the Moscow Conservatory : in the U.S.S.R. from July 10-19. She is the daughter of Brent, and Loraine Fackrell of Vineyard. Information on the local students stu-dents to study in Russia will be published in the July 3rd issue of the Orem-Geneva Times. Texas Tech lists graduates Julie Anne Parchesky of Orem is among more than 1,400 students at Texas Tech University Univer-sity to receive degrees in the spring 1990 commencement exercises. exer-cises. Julie received a B.S. in Home Economics in the field of Clothing, Cloth-ing, Textiles and Merchandising. She is the daughter of Joseph Parchesky, 233 N. 1120 E, The couple will reside in Washington, D.C. where the groom is employed by the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom. Artist John McClellan is featured fea-tured in a one-man show at Springville Art Museum titled, "What's on Your Mind." The show will be exhibited through July 15 McClellan, the father of the "Lizgrins," recently expanded his art with ceramic profiles of human heads filled with "ideas" fashioned out of ceramic clay. ,f Pieces shown include "Peace ofMind," musings about the ideas of war and peace; and similar concepts con-cepts shown in "Brain Storm" "Brain Dead," "Brain Wave," and "Brainchild." The show also includes some of McClellan's castles, hand-built ceramic works that also include an incredible amount of detail. - McClellan lives in American Fork, and works out of his home and his Orem studio. He was formally for-mally trained in drawing and painting, but turned to ceramics after a class at Utah State University where his teacher, Alan Bennet, encouraged him to develop his ability to turn clay into creatures instead of pots. The result was the "Lizgrin," five-inch lizard-like creatures with many human characteristics. charac-teristics. The artist characterizes them as three-dimensional cartoons. car-toons. McClellan began marketing market-ing the Lizgrins in 1981 and now works at it full-time. He says has been strongly influenced in-fluenced by Walt Disney and other cartoonists, as well as the "claymation" of Will Vinton and the fantasy art of James Chris-tensen Chris-tensen and Hans Bok. r-it ' - - V-! f KAREN GARDNER AND MICHAEL L.
