Perry sisters, Brian Crow smash state records By Steve Blackwell Natalie Perry and her sister Becky have basically re-written the record book for their respective respec-tive age groups. Natalie finished with 1093 points in the 1990 State triathlon, and only two girls have ever scored higher. j Natalie jumped 4'6"at the high jump, destroying the old state record of 310". This jump yielded her 481 points, and was just one-half inch short of the national na-tional record. Her shot put of 17'10 and one-half inches, along with her time of 31.52 on the 200m dash helped qualify her for the regionals in Denver, Colorado on July 12th and 13th. Becky Perry broke the state record in the girls heptathlon with a total of 4415 points. The old record was 3888 points. Perry's high jump of 57" was three inches better than the old record, and she went on to beat . the 100m hurdle record as well. Brian Crow was the third member mem-ber of the Orem Track Club to dominate in his area. Crow took -first place in the decathlon by scoring scor-ing 5400 points - the old record (held by Matt Denning), was 5319 . points. Crows high hurdle time of 15.42 was enough to beat the old . TAC record of 15.62. These great performances at Murray High qualified all three to go to the TAC Regionals in Denver, Colorado an July 12-13. .
