Local clog dancers perform The Clog America Dance Studio, directed by Dennis Cobia, leaves September 12th for an extended ex-tended and prestigious performance perfor-mance tour to the East Coast This exciting and popular group will perform in Philadelphia Philadel-phia on September 12, New York, September 13, and the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey on September 15. They will be featured as special spe-cial guests and performers at the Naval Academy during the halftime of the BYU-Navy football foot-ball game on September 16 in Annapolis, An-napolis, Maryland and finish their tour with performances and tours of the Capitol Building and the White House on September 18 and 19 in Washington D.C. This will be the second major tour performance to the east for these doggers as they were part 66 Farley Family Reunion" to benefit clean air The Farley Family that rollicking rol-licking collection of outrageous relatives created and performed by actor James Arrington would like to help "clear the air" with a special benefit performance perfor-mance of "The Farley Family Reunion" Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Sundance Summer Theatre in Provo Canyon. Proceeds from the performance perfor-mance will benefit the Utah Valley Val-ley Citizens for Clean Air, a member mem-ber of the Utah Coalition for Clean Air, according to Arrington, Ar-rington, who has traveled with the Farley Family characters throughout the Intermountain area and across the nation for the past 10 years. Since actor James Arrington first performed his one-man show "The Farley Family Reunion" -a riotous collection of relatives who have delighted audiences from Honolulu to Boston and during that decade the Farleys, like all families, have changed. Ho one's actually died," admits ad-mits Arrington, who, in his time away from the Farleys, is a scriptwriter and actor with the Brigham Young University Motion Mo-tion Picture studio. "But some family members have moved on, and others have shown up to take their place." . Arrington has created 28 characters (with several more in of the "We the People Parade" in Philadelphia and the Miss America Pageant in 1987. The dancers are part of the Clog America National Clogging program developed and directed in part by Dennis Cobia of Orem. Dennis ' has directed and produced the National Cloggers and Dance Festival held each year in conjunction with America's Freedom Festival and is an educator in the Provo School District. The Clog America Studios will be registering new and continuing continu-ing students at its Provo, Springville, American Fork and Orem Studios for the next few weeks. Audience members will easily recognize their favorite or even least favorite family members among the ranks of the Farleys, Arrington Ar-rington promises. Sundance owner Robert Red-ford, Red-ford, a well-known environmentalist, environmen-talist, is donating the use of the Sundance Theatre for the performance, perfor-mance, says Arrington.
