New Zealand Soprano To Perform New Zealand soprano Malvina Major will be a special guest of the Salt Lake Symphony for two performances perfor-mances in Salt Lake City this month. The first will be Friday (May 30) at 7:30 p.m. in the Salt Lake Tabernacle Taber-nacle and the second at 7:30 p.m. Saturday (May 31) in the Assembly Hall on the Salt Lake Temple grounds. - - ' Admission to both concerts is free. David Dalton, professor of music at Brigham Y oung University, directs the symphony and says the spring concert is designed to be the most popular of the year. White silk ' UP&L Awards Prizes In Alternate Energy Contest Mont Harmon Jr. High student Jason Haddock was awarded grand prize in Utah Power and Light Co.'s Alternate Energy Contest. He was applauded ap-plauded by 2,000 UP&L shareholders at the company's annual meeting Monday. His project, chosen from hundreds hun-dreds of competing entries, was entitled, en-titled, Alternate Energy Without Pollution. Jason is the son of Brent and Carrol Car-rol Haddock of Price. Jeff Campbell of Orem Jr. High placed second with his project on Solar Heat. The seventh grader received $50 and a trophy.
