Last week, in recognition of American Education Week, the Sixth Grades responded to two questions "What is one of your goals for the future?" and "How is the education you are getting now he ,)ing prepare you to achieve that goal?" Kach day throe students read their answers over the intercom Tor the entire school. Here are some of their answers. James Fmery My goal is to become a professional pilot for . American Airlines. A pilot needs to be able to read well and to know math, english, and spelling. I am glad that we are learning these things in school because I want to be a very well educated pilot. Jamie Adams One of my goals for the future is to be an oceanographer. I will study the animals, fish, and plants in the ocean. We just finished a fish report in our class. I learned how fish breath and how they grow. In science we have learned about the sea otter, the killer whale, and the salmon. Learning these things in school will help Mt. Other players will be called up from the J. V. team only on a weekly basis to complete the varsity roster. Coach Freestone leels this years team has so much depth and experience ex-perience that she might be able to play more man-lo-man defense rather than a zone. If so, M. V. could be in a much high finish in the state tur-nantent. tur-nantent. Last year the Bruins defeated every team in the region at least once, except Orem. The teacher I have now is helping me learn how to be a teacher and to be patient with children. My teacher is also helping me to learn alot in math, english, spelling, history, science and reading. These are the things I will need to teach my students some day. My teacher makes school fun but makes us learn at the same time. I want to be a teacher like that. Patti Threet Some day I would like to be a Veterinarian. Math is important and reading is important too. Without these things I wouldn't be able to become a Veternarian. We use math and reading every day in our lives. If I want to be a good Vet I have to do well in these things. Vets have to measure and add and count money. They have to read the schedule they have. Steve Cooper My goal for the future is to become a professional baseball player. It is important for me to study and learn a lot because If I don't get good grades I can't play college baseball and if I can't play college ball I won't be drafted to pro baseball. A good baseball player also needs to be a good sport. I am learning to be a good sport in school. Richard Larson My future goal is to have a job and earn some money. One job I would like to be doing in about 20 years is to be a lawyer. What I am doing right now in school will help me learn and study law so that I can be a good lawyer. I am learning to speak correctly, about history, science, reading, and math. I like law, but from what I've heard I think it's hard so I'll need all the education I can get.
