A graduate of Fuller-ton Fuller-ton College, Mr. Anderson worked for a California bank for eight years prior to joining First Security in 1976. He has supplemented supple-mented his practical banking experience with numerous courses offered by the American Institute of Banking. A native of Pleasant Grove, he was a First Security loaned executive to the United Way in 1977. He is currently a member of the Orem Rotary and coaches Pleasant Grove youth sports activities. He was born Jan. 2, 1920 in Orem to Clurence Henry and Lois Patten Downs. He was married July 21, 1948 to Dorothy Zola Ilenrichsen in the Manti LDS Temple. He worked for HO years as art aircraft technician at Hill Air Force Hase, retiring in 1976. He was employed at the lime of his death at Laylon Floral. He received his education edu-cation in Orem, graduating from Lincoln High School, Orem, and attending BYU for two years. He was a member of the Layton 1 1 th LDS ward and held positions posi-tions in the choir and the Kldcrs Quorum presidency. He was a veteran of World War 11, having served in South Pacific in the Navy. Surviving are his wife of Layton; one son and one daughter: Thomas Craig Downs, Layton; Mrs. Allen (Sherry Lynn) Newberry, Overton, Nev.; four grandchildren; grand-children; four brothers and one sister: LaVar Downs, East Carbon, Utah; John W. She was born May 18, 1893 in Clifton, Idaho to Erastus G. and Mary Euen Holt Farmer. She married Bryan Hunsaker Winward, Jan. 26, 1916 in the Logan LDS Temple. He died Nov. 10, 1976. She was an active member of the LDS Church Chur-ch and served a mission with her husband in the Somoan, Fijian and Tongan Islands, she was Primary president and served three stake missions. She was active in the Daughter's of Utah Pioneers in Idaho. She hadlived with her children since her husband died and had moved back to Orem two weeks ago.
