Miss Orem, Rosemary Dunn, entertained the group with piano selections, and Lorenzo Dunn, her uncle, sang two numbers for the group. Mayor Winston Crawford executed exe-cuted the official installation of new officers for the group. Ron Wilkinson was installed as 1973 president, with Jerry Washburn as President-elect to become the 1974 president. David Stone was installed as the 1973 vice president, with Connie Barker continuing as secretary-treasurer. The Mayor also installed this year's board of directors which includes three new members, JoElla Eckles, owner and manager man-ager of Fantastic Fabrics; Dr. Charles Edmunds of Edmunds Animal Hospital, and Jim Brown, manager of W asatch Bank. RON WILKINSON, 1973 President Ron Wilkinson received the Distinguished service award for 1970 from the Orem Jaycees. That same year he was named the Outstanding Young Man of Orem. He has served on the board of directors for the Ki-wanis Ki-wanis Club in Orem. He has served as Chairman of the BYU Boosters for athletics, and on the executive committee for the community affairs discussion group. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Orem Chamber of Commerce for three years. - Mr. Wilkinson is the owner-' owner-' director of the Total Restaurant . Training Company. He has written a number of professional books related to the restaurant industry. He has served as a missionary in the LDS Church and is presently pre-sently serving in the Orem 6th Ward as a Seventy and a counselor coun-selor in the YMMIA. He and his wife, Darla, live . in Orem and have five children, : Ronald (10),Edward(8),Stephanie (6), Teresa (2), and Jeffrey ; (1 mo.). : DAVID STONE, 1973 Vice pres-" pres-" ident Mr. Stone is a lifetime resi-, resi-, dent of this area. Bus-. iness Management, Marketing, : and Finance and Banking. - Mr. Stone has served 12 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve, and has served both in administrative administra-tive and clerical positions. He has been with the Orem .State Bank for 13 years andpres-ently andpres-ently holds the position of Vice President and Cashier. Mr. Stone is a former Bishop and a former member of the Sharon West Stake Presidency, and is presently serving on the High Council for the SharonWest Stake in the LDS Church. He and his wife, Judy, live in Orem and have three children, Mike (16), Debbie (14), and Linda (12). JERRY WASHBURN 1974 President-elect Mr. Washburn is a lifetime resident of Orem. He graduated grad-uated , from Orem High School, and he served a mission for the LDS Church in the Southern1 States, and upon his rturn, he completed his schooling and graduated from Brigham Young University. In 1965 he joined his father, Alvin Washburn, in business in the Washburn Motor Company in Orem. All his life he has been in-involved in-involved in civic activities in his community and at the present pres-ent time he is serving on the Board of Directors of the Ki-wanis Ki-wanis Club in Orem. He has always had an avid interest in-terest in raising registered quarter quar-ter horses. He has been active in Church organizations and is presently serving as president of the Elders El-ders Quorum inthe Orem 12th Ward. He and his wife, Betti, live in Orem andhave three children, Christian (5), Michael (3), and Marianne (2)fc CONNIE BARKER, ChamberSec-retary ChamberSec-retary Connie has been executive secretary sec-retary to the Orem Chamber of Commerce since 1971. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Orem Boosters, and is secretary of the Utah. County Chamber of Commerce Presidents Presi-dents Council. Mrs. Barker is a den mother in the Orem 13th Ward and a room mother at the Lincoln Jr. High School. She and her husband, Sgt. Jay S. This is a state wide competition. compe-tition. The state is divided into three different regions, with Orem in the south region. The Orem compeititon will be as follows: 9 a.m. at Lincoln Junior High for nine to ten year olds, 9 a.m. at Orem Junior High for eleven to twelve year olds, and 9 a.m. af Orem High for thirteen to fourteen year olds. To enter a youngster must pick up a registration form at Walker Bank and Turst Co., Zion Motors, or Warshaws. The competition is sponsored by Walker Bank and Trust Co., Zion Motors, Smiths' Management Manage-ment Corporation, the Utah Stars, and Orem's Scera Recreation Rec-reation Department. The top youngsters in each age group from each regional site then will be brought to the Salt Palace for preliminary shoot-offs shoot-offs in early March.
