The groom has filled a mission to the Central Atlantic States and has been attending the Brigham Young University. He is presently pres-ently employed in Salt Lake City. The couple will be married January 24th, and have chosen the Logan LDS Temple as the place to recite their vows. She has received an associate degree from the Brigham Young University, Univer-sity, and was employed as secretary sec-retary at the University. She has served a mission to the England Central Mission. Mr. Todd is of Cape Town, South Africa, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil A. Todd of that city. He is presently enrolled at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He has also served Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. BYU Seeks Diaries An appeal for diaries, journals journ-als ad related materials kept by students of brigham Young University, especially during the early years of 1875-1920, was issued by Dr. Ernest L. Wilkinson, Wilkin-son, former president of the university. Dr. Wilkinson is in the process of writing a 100-year history. "If anyone knows of any person, still living, who attended BYU during that period, or if they know relatives or friends of persons who had connections with BYU at that time, it would be deeply appreciated if they would communicate com-municate with me. We would like information on where to obtain data, personal diaries, journals, or similar historical material," Dr. Wilkinson said. February 10 an open house will honor the newly-weds newly-weds in the Scipio Ward cultural hall. Momentary Blackout In Orem Mon. Power outage in Orern Monday produced concern among Orem residents. The electricity faded out, came in again and faded out from 7:43 to 8:03 according to Orem police department clocks. Areas from Highland to Orem were affected by the blackout. In contact with Utah Power and Light representative Roscoe Carroll, it was learned from their investigations that the incident occured as the transmission trans-mission switches attheOlmstead Power Substation were in the process of changing over to another power source line. According to Mr. Carroll, a Technical College In Provo with a major in Dental Assisting, and is currently employed in Provo. Mr. Quarnberg is a graduate of Millard High School wherehe was a member of the football and baseball teams. Presently he is a member of the Fillmore National Guard and is attending Utah Technical College where he is studying welding. When this occurs, an automatic switch trips which causes the lines to change over to another power source line until the bus-work bus-work of the first power source has cleared and is producing again. Mr. Carroll said they have not yet located the cause for the flashover. If it were ice or snow it could have melted and disappeared dis-appeared by now, but they are still investigating. According to the UPL representative, repre-sentative, there appears to be no other problem, and residents are enjoying the continuation of full power since that brief changeover period.
