OREM CITY WATER BOND ELECTION Nov.2nr Among the ill winds that blow no good tornados and hurricanes are considered the arch-villains. Now comes word that the ordinary or-dinary garden variety windstorm wreaks more damage than its celebrated cousins do. Figures compiled by the National Na-tional Weather Service show that windstorms accounted for at least $50 million in property damage in the United States for each of the last ten years - - and in some of those years caused more than $500 million in damage. It is common for windstorms to blow at hurricane speeds of 75 miles an hour for brief periods, per-iods, Mr. Wiegel comments. 'These short bursts of speed inflict in-flict considerable damage by blowing off shingles, damaging crops or causing unstable buildings build-ings to collapse. Unless it is anchored, a Establishment of an Office ol Student Financial Aid and an Office Of-fice of Academic Advisement at Brigham Young University was announced today by President Dallin H. Oaks. The scholarship, awards, grant-in-air and loan programs have been consolidated into one office to provide more effective analysis of the student's problems prob-lems and to provide combination of various aids to meet a student's stu-dent's needs, President Oaks notes. The Office of Academic Advisement Ad-visement will supervise the establishment es-tablishment of advisement centers cen-ters in each of the 13 colleges at BYU in addition to directing the evaluation of a student's credits cred-its taken at BYU, junior colleges, col-leges, and through national tests. L. Robert Webb, former chairman chair-man of the scholarhip committee, commit-tee, has been appointed director of the new financial aids program, mobile home can be overturned by even a 45 mile-per-hour wind if it happens to hit at just the wrong angle. Winds that would merely rip the shingles off a conventional house can send an unsecured mobile home rolling rol-ling like an empty shoebox. Mr. Wiegel strongly advises that mobile homes be anchored with tie-down equipment. Dr. Richard H. Simpso, director of the National Hurricane Center, says, "I wouldn't think of leaving my mobile home without straps attached to holdfasts embedded in concrete.' and Erlend D. Peterson, former t. P admission counselor, has been UOBSH I LOST named coordinator of the academic aca-demic advisement program. LsQDQiLB Direct From Holland S LARGE "iPl ASSORTMENT PLANT NOW!
