Show T Riey 'Joe1 Johnson Killed While Hunting Services were held Wednesday In Orem for Riley Joe Johnson, 28, 454 Emery Ave., Orem who was shot and killed instantly about 7:10 a.m.Saturdaywhileonadeer hunt about four miles south of Thistle near Spanish Fork Canyon. He apparently was killed when a bullet described by bis companions com-panions as coming from above struck him in the chest and pen etrated his heart. Deputy Sheriff Mack Holley stated that the fatal shot came from the gun of Paul Wilson, 19, son of Iddo L. Wilson, 549 S. Utah Ave., Provo. According to reports, there were three shots with the last one hitting Johnson, Mr. Holley said. The victim left the camp riding a motorbike. He was followed by Dennis Gordon, 22, Orem, who was riding a horse and Ronnie Ron-nie Gordon, 16, who was walking. They were heading for high ground when the shooting took place. Others in the party were going to drive deer uphill. They were Wayne Johnson, 17, stepson of the victim; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Barney, Pleasant Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Barney, Spanish Fork; Mike Gabbitas, Spanish Fork; Paul Crandall, and Dave Gabbitas, Gab-bitas, both of Spanish Fork. Ronald Barney drove to Thistle and called the Highway Patrol who in turn notified Utah County Sheriff Ralph "Dick" Chappie. While the sheriff and his deputy Mack Holley were enroute to the scene, the Gordon brothers brought the body out of the hills and were bringing it back to Utah Valley Hospital. Interment In-terment Orem City Cemetery. 28, 454 Emrey Dr., Orem, was born April 11, 1943 in Mesa, Ariz., the son of Samuel Relland Phyllis Pyne Johnson. He married mar-ried Reva Zuflet Johnson in Ely Nev. He came to Orem as a child and later moved to Palmyra. He moved back to Orem five years ago. He received his education in Spanish Fork schools and was a graduate of Spanish Fork High School. He attended Utah Technical Tech-nical College. He was manager of the machine shop at Brad-shaw Brad-shaw Auto Parts InSpanishFork, After his marriage he worked as a concrete finisher for M. Morrin and Sons Construction Co. He was manager of Joe's Conoco Station at 495 W. Center inProvo for the past six months. A member of the LDS Church, he was leader of the Ward Marrieds in the Orem 8th Ward. He was a Scout troop committeeman com-mitteeman and was Scoutmaster Scout-master in Palmyra. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. Survivors include his widow; sons and daughters, Donald Richard Rich-ard Johnson, Lackland Air Force Base, Tex.; Wayne, Byron Carl and Larry Todd, all of Orem; Tamara Valerie and Mona Phyllis, Phyl-lis, Orem; parents, Spanish Fork; grandparents, Mrs. Sam(Thirza) Johnson, Orem; Mr. and Mrs. Reuburn S. Pyne, Springville; brother, Sam Johnson, Lyman, Wyo.; sisters, Mrs. Myron L. Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Christensen, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Duncan, Denver, Colo.; great-grandparents, Mrs. T. E. Duncan, Fort Morgan, Colo.; Mrs. Alma Christensen, Salt Lake City. Burial was in the Spanish Fork Cemetery. Orem Man's Mother Dies Funeral services for Orissa Moselle Michaelson Budge, 68, Paris, Ida., who died Saturday in Logan, Utah, after an illness, ill-ness, were held Wednesday at Bear Lake. Mrs. Budge was the mother of Harold S. Budge of Orem She was born May 10, 1903, in St. Charles, Ida., to Nephi C. and Orissa Wilhelmsen Michaelson. Mi-chaelson. She married Cyril Budge on June 1, 1927, in the Salt Lake Temple and he died on Jan. 22, 1964. Survivors include six children: child-ren: Ezra C. Budge, Los Alamos, Ala-mos, N.M.; Harold S. Budge, Orem; Ned C. Budge, Logan; Wayne Budge, Bountiful; Mrs. A. Worth (Nina) Eborn, Paris; Moselle Budge, Salt Lake City; 23 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs, Dave (Mignon) Watt, Pin-gree, Pin-gree, Ida. Burial was in the Paris City Cemetery. Vote yes on Nov. 2nd w Riley Joe Johnson Private Rites Held For Alfred Blarcum Private funeral services for Alfred Austin Van Blarcum, 78, 1544 S. 325 W Orem, who died Oct. 17 at the Utah Valley Hospital, Hos-pital, were held in Provo with burial in the Rest Land Mem orial Park in Dallas, Tex. Mr. Van Blarcum was born Nov. 20, 1893, In Terry City, Ohio, a son of Auston and Mary Beach Van Blarcum. He married mar-ried Norma McDuffie on July 26, 1919, in Toledo, Ohio. He received his education In Terry City schools and was a veteran of World War I, serving in France and Belgium. He was a salesman, being a representative represent-ative for Ohio Match Co., Con-klin Con-klin Pen Co., Elgin Watch Co. and Parker Pen Co. After his retirement, he lived in Dallas, then in Philadelphia, Pa., and then moved to Provo to be near a daughter. Mr. Van Blarcum was a member of the Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodtre and Scottish Rite. Survivors include three daughters daugh-ters and one son, Mrs. John (Mariellen) Staley, Orem; Mrs. Clyde (Bonnie) Baldwin; Riverside River-side Calif,; Mrs.JackE. He was born July 24, 1905, in McKeesport, Pa., to John and Frances Scherick. He married Letha Faye Scott on Nov. 21, 1939, in Longmont, Colo. He was a retired coal miner electrician elec-trician and mechanic. Survivors include his widow, Orem; one son, Edward Ray Scherick; one grandson. Burial was in the Price City Cemetery. Kimball, 82, who died Monday Mon-day of natural causes in a Logan hospital. He was the father of Mrs. Max D. (Ruth) Weaver, Orem. Mr. Kimball was born June 20, 1889, at Logan to N, W. and Martha Winder Kimball. He married mar-ried Marie Smith on June 23, 1909 in the Logan LDS Temple.
