Underwater Hazards At Pine view EDEN, UTAH Pineview Reservoir Re-servoir Boaters are cautioned to be extra alert for changing underwater un-derwater hazards due to the rapid drawdown presently occuring at this popular boating water. According Ac-cording to Tedd Tuttle, Boating Chief of the Division of Parks and Recreation, several boats have already received damage to hulls, props, and outdrives from old and abandoned roadways and other hazards just under the water surface. The Division rangers assigned to Pineview, Bud DeRyke and Martin Van Roosendaal, suggest that boaters stay well clear of the ends of the three arms and the sides of the center arm and confine their activity to the known deep water channels and the area between the arms and the bouy line. The roadway hazards can be avoided since their locations can be detected from where they enter the water from the receed-ing receed-ing shoreline. This hazardous condition will continue to exist as long as boaters can still utilize ut-ilize the ramps for launching. The Port ramp will probably be useable until mid-October, according ac-cording to District Forest Ranger Frank McElwain. His office is presently planning to take advantage advan-tage of this low water condition with a project of hazard marking or removal to the degree that available funds and man-power will allow.
