The program has been very popular with students and teachers teach-ers alike. Mr. Davis remarked, "One of the problems of society is the use of leisure time. Next to sleeping we spend more of our time watching watch-ing television than any other activity. We are creating a society so-ciety of spectators, instead of doers." The class tries to get away from the idea of merely looking at a learning process. Skills that are emphasized include all aspects of fishing, including spin and fly fishing and skills involving in-volving golf. Actual fishing and golfing field trips have been held. What we need is a citizen that has a wide variety of skills, and a thirst for creative activity other than the boring, dullsome process of watching, Mr. Davis stated. Activities involving music, nature na-ture study, 'rock hounding, camping and hunting have already been taught. At present skiing is being emphasized.
