Show t r 1 Gilbert E. Chllds Rites Wednesday Fcr Teacher, Gilbert Childs Funeral services for Gilbert E. Chllds, 60 of 1104 S. St., were held Wednesday in . Orem. , , Mr. Childs died at his home at 2 a. m. Monday of a heart attack. He was born Nov. 5, 1903, in Gunnison to Edward F. and Matilda Tunnell Childs. He was a teacher at the Edge mont Elementary School. Mr. Childs was l high priest in Hie LDS Church. He was married mar-ried to Thella Hansen in Ephraim who preceded him in death in 1931. He then mar ried Florence Hansen Marshall Mar-shall April 1932, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Childs had taught school In Utah for 32 years. He was a graduate of Snow College and BYU. He also attended Utah State University. He has taught music in the Gunnison, Uintah, Hinckley and Lincoln High School and a grade school in the Provo School District and at Edge-mont Edge-mont in the Alpine District. He was a high priest group leader, ward clerk, a member of the MSA Presidency of the Provo Fifth LDS Ward and a stake chorister in the Orem Stake. Surviving are his widow of Orem"; children, Nelson James Marshall of Vernal, Calvin Marshall of Orem, Robert Childs of Richfield, Mrs. William Wil-liam (Doris) Olsen of Orem, Mrs. Ray (Rita) Clark of Salt Lake City, Carolyn and John Childs of Orem; brothers and isters, Mrs. William E. (Tur-sell) (Tur-sell) Lsrrsen of Virginia, Howard Ho-ward Childs of Ogden, Mrs. Kelleth (Elna) Bushnell of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Clarence (Margaret) Olarson of Salt Lake City, Lynn Childs of Basin Wyo., Mrs. Frank (Muriel) Rydulch of Rexburg, Ida.. Mrs. Aubrey (Virginia) Roselund of Gunnison, Vaughn Childs of Gunnison, Gordon Chllds of Salt Lake, Mrs. Gerald Ger-ald (Eva) Anderson of Manti, Mr. Jack (Ardell) Nielson of Gunnison; 15 grandchildren. Burial was in Orem City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary. Phylis Farley conducted the MJA. Session. La Vonne Farley Far-ley presented Golden Gleaner Glean-er Awards to Joan Astell, Orem 21st Ward; and LaOawn Rawlings, Vineyard Ward. A special organ and piano duet was presented by Sharon Morrill Mor-rill and R. Lou Morrill Hader- lie. Speaker was Elder Rich ard L. Gunn, member of YMMIA Board, and Chairman of the Art Department of B.Y.U. He stressed the im portance of preparing for Eternal Marriage. He told the audience that President McKay Mc-Kay wanted the Church membership to realize how important the sa-ntity of the family is; that forces of evil are working extremely hard to destroy family unity. Peterson Funeral services will be held' Friday at 2 p.m. in the Berg Mortuary of Orem for Grant H. (Bud) Peterson, 38, of 325 N. 985 W. Mr. Peterson died Monday afternoon at Utah Valley Hos pital of a gunshot wound. He had been ill for several months. He was born July 20, 1925 in Provo, a son of Preston and Christine Olsen Peterson. He married Leatrice Hatch Aug. 5, 1943 in Provo. Mr. Peterson attended Provo City Schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. In 1956 he came to Orem where he had resided since. He was employed as a bartender bar-tender at the Riverside Country Coun-try Club. Mr. Peterson was a member of the Orem 28th Ward. He was also a member of tha BPOE No. 849 of Provo. Surviving are his widow, two sons and one daughter, Ronald, Gordon and Leslie, all of Orem; his mother, Mrs. Christine Andreason, Ameri can Fork; five brothers and 1 sister, Clinton Peterson, and Mrs. Leland (Margie) Bean, both of Niles, Calif.; Reed and Roy, both of Provo; Glen, Norfolk, Nor-folk, Va., Blaine, American Fork. Fcsrrell Debs Eugene Farrell, 58, 733 N. 1060 W., died Monday at 10:00 p.m. at the American Fork Hospital after v heart attack. Bom Jan. 4, 1908 in Manti, Utah, he was a son of Thomas Francis and Anne Goodall Farrell. He was am elder in the LDS church, and had worked in construction work most of his life. At the time of his illness he was working for Utah County Road Department. He had been a resident of O"1 for the Pt 28 years TT .JJ T. 111- -I J. Nov. 17, 1937 in Provo, and later the marriage was solemnized solem-nized in the Salt Lake Temple. He Is survived by his wife of Orem, two sons and two daughters of Orem: Mrs. Weston Wes-ton (Joan) Pace, Evelyn Farrell, Far-rell, Dellbert Farrell and Ronald Ron-ald Farrell all of Orem; one grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Mark (Mamie) Daley, Orem, and Mrs. Ray (Stella) Hatfield, Hat-field, Mapleton. Turner Succumbs at 82 Funeral services were held Saturday in Lehi for Mrs. Sarah Hannah Macklin Turner, Turn-er, 82, Orem, who died Feb. 26 in an Orem rest home after a long illness. She was bom Dec. 3, 1881 in American Fork, a daughter of William and Margaret Walber Macklin. She married Alfred Thomas Turner Dec. 24, 1898 in American Fork. He died March 1, 1959. Mrs. Turner was a member of the LDS Church. She is survived by two sons and three daughters, Denzell, Robert and Mrs. Oran (Irene) Beard all, all of Lehi; Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur (Sadie) Rowley, Stockton; Stock-ton; Mrs. Ruby Cook, Ontario, Oregon; 32 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren, and one brother, Henry Macklin, Reseda, Calif. Mr. Williams, a resident of Provo and Orem for the past 35 years, died Feb. 28 at the Utah Valley Hospital of a stroke. He was born Oct. 11, 1901 in Vernal, a son of John Elias and Mary Ann Lords Williams. He married Marvel Galloway Gallo-way Perry Oct. 10, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Williams received his education in Vernal schools. In 1927 he moved to Provo where he resided until 1960. He then moved to Orem where he had resided since. He was a member of the Orem Third LDS Ward. Mr. Williams was employed by the Blumenthal Construction Construc-tion Co. He spent many years raising purebred sheep and a 1 so worked for many years as a construction worker and a cement ce-ment worker for Tolboe and Harlain Construction Co.
