" i l I 7 1 4 Mr. iand Mrs. David Gene Loveless Newlyweds Visit Here, Open House To Honor Them Visiting at the home of bis parents Mr. and Mrs. Grant J. Johnson is Larry Cecil Johnson John-son and his bride Mama. The young couple were married in a Chapel Wedding in Peru, i Indiana, on June 1, 1963 with the bride's father officiating. Their marriage was solomoniz-ed solomoniz-ed on June 11, 1963 in the L.D. S. Temple in Salt Lake City. They will be honored art an Open House given by the grooms parents on Friday June 14, 1963 from 8 to 10 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial Building Build-ing 425 So. State St. in Orem. Friends and relatives are invited in-vited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Grant J. Johnson John-son have returned from a tour of nine states which took them first to Peru, Indiana1, where they attended the wedding of their son Larry Cecil and Mar-na Mar-na Lou Schmidt. During the vacation trip, the Johnsons visited with Mr. and Mrs. Glen White of Niles, Michigan. Mrs. White is the National Conductress of the (Ladies Auxiliary to the VJF.W. and was National Representative Representa-tive of Utah at June 1962 convention con-vention as Mrs. J o h nson'a guest. They visited the Hospital, Hospit-al, nursury, guest house and chapel and several of the cottages housing widows and orphans of totally Disabled or deceased veterans. This has long been the desire of the i Johnsons who are dilegent workers of the local V.F.W. post and auxiliary. They toured the Dubuque, Iwa, where they visited with the family of Harold Fromelt, father of Mrs. Wilford Vard Pierce. Ending the tour in the Black Hills of South Dakota, the Johnsons visited Mount Rushmore and other sceinic attractions. Newly married Mr. and Mrs. David Gene Loveless will be at home in Provo later this week following their return from a honeymoon in California. Califor-nia. The bride is the former Kathleen Londa Payne, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Payne of Heber. The groom is son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen W. Loveless of Edgemont. The couple traded marriage promises Friday, June 7 at the Mountain Spaa Resort near Midway, during a cermony in the presence of immediate families and close friends. They were honored art a reception re-ception at the resort following the ceremony. The new Mrs. Loveless is a graduate of Heber High School and is attending Hollywood Beauty College. The groom is a graduate of Orem High School and LDS Seminary and is employed em-ployed in Provo. SETS TEMPLE DATE Wedding plans for their daughter Deann are announced by Mr. and Mrs. Albert M. Rowley Sr. On July 11, Miss Rowley will be married in the Salt Lafce LDS Temple to Wayne Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Harris. Har-ris. That evening the bride's parents will be hosts at a reception. Miss Rowley has attended Orem High School, and Mr. Harris Har-ris is a OHS graduate. They plan to make their first home in Seattle. The bride to be plans to continue her schooling. Reed M. (Gwen) Bench Mrs. Reed M. (Gwen) Bench was elected first vice president of the Department of Utah, American Legion Auxiliary, during the state convention last weekend at Price. Mrs. Bench will also be a delegate to the national convention con-vention in Miami next Sept. Mr. Bench was honored by the national organization of American Legion. He was presented pre-sented a plaque for his service as commander of District Four. Also attending the convention conven-tion at Price were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnson, commander and president of the local post and unit, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Perigo. Monday evening the local American Legion together with the Provo and Spanish Fork posts and units entertained at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City. The group took a party and program including music numbers and entertain ment Refreshments were served to about 150 persons. Participating Participat-ing from the Orem club were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Perigo, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Olsen, Mrs. Reed Bench, Mrs. Fred Gour-din, Gour-din, Mrs. Paul Juber, Mrs. Marc Broadhead and Mrs.. Keith Jewkes. ! Diane Neilson Wins Award Diane Nielson is the Hono Scholarship recipient for University Uni-versity of Utah from Orem High School. She was nominated by Principal Prin-cipal L.B. Bennett of OHS as an outstanding student expecting expect-ing to attend the University of Utah. Scholarship awards are given to young people who have maintained a 3.00 Grade Point Average or higher in their basic subjects in their four years of High School. The Honors at Entrance students stu-dents are the top 3 per cent of the graduating class. They Include: Robert L. Loveridge, Janice Meredith Stratton, Jeanille M. Zubeck. -j : QG1)I i Mrs. Leonard V. Burns (Nelma Jean Kissel) Mr. and Mrs. Mirl Kissel are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Nelma Jean to Leonard W. Burns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Burns, all of Orem. Miss Kissel became a bride in ceremonies June 6. She graduated from Orem High School. The couple will make a home in Lincoln, Neb., where Mr. Burns is stationed with the U. S. Air Force. Family Attends U Commencement Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Snell attended the University of Utah 94th Annual Commencement Commence-ment Monday evening. Their son-in-law, Lynn Daniel Weller Wel-ler Jr., received his Doctor of Medicine Degree. Dr. Weller received his pre-med education educat-ion at BYU, graduating in 1959. He will spend the next year in Salt Lake City where he will intern at the Salt Lake County Hospital. Dr. Weller is a native of Pocatello, Idaho. He is mar ried to the former Maureen Geist of Orem. Mureen also is attending the U of U working toward a Master's Degree in Political Science. They have one son, Lynn Daniel Weller III.
