Show J LEGAL MTO NOTICE OF BOND ELECTION THE BOARD OF EDUCATION t OF ALPINE SCHOOL DISTRICT UTAH COUNTY, UTAH PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election will be held in the Alpine School District, Utah County, State of Utah, on the 7th day of November, 1961, at which election there shall be submitted to the registered voters who have paid a property tax within said district during the year next preceding such election, the following question, to wit: Shall the Board of Education of Alpine School District, Utah County, State of Utah, be authorized to issue and sell bonds of the district in the amount of Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars, (2,500,000.00), in denominations of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) each, numbered 1 to 2500 inclusive, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed four and one-fourth per centum (4V4) per annum, to be dated January 15, 1962, and to mature serially, as follows: $150,000.00 January 15, 1964 $100,000.00 January 15, 1968 $150,000.00 January 15, 1965 $600,000.00 . January 15, 1971 $150,000.00 January 15, 1966 $600,000.00 January 15, 1972 $150,000.00 January 15, 1967 $600,000.00 January 15, 1973 for the purpose of raising money for puichasing school sites for building or purchasing one cr more school houses and supplying the same with furniture and apparatus and for improving improv-ing the grounds. The gym will be decorated like 'Gay Paris' and for the first time at an Orem High School dance, refreshments will be served in 'sidewalk cafes'. During the dance the student stu-dent elected for the Hop Mistress Mis-tress and Hop Master will be announced. The dress will be semi formal for-mal and strictly a date affair. Committeemen are: Jay B u rlr, chairman, Shirlene Ercanbrack, Cherie Peterson, Jim Gordon and Russel Jud-kins. Man Hospitalized After Collision Of Car, Truck Rodney M. Johnston, 21, 426 S. 1200 W., was reported in fair condition early this week at Utah Valley Hospital following fol-lowing an accident Saturday night at 400 N. 1200 W. Other driver involved was George B. Curtis, 828 N. 6th W., Provo, who was treated for cuts and bruises and released. re-leased. Both were taken to Utah Valley Hospital by Orem City Ambulance. Mr. Johnston suffered lacerations lacer-ations of the face and head, and a possible skull fracture. Estimated damages to the Johnston vehicle were $1000, with about $1500 damages to the pickup truck and camper driven by Mr. Curtis, which rolled over following the impact. im-pact. Mr. Johnston was cited for alleged failure to .yield right of way by investigating officers. To begin the festivities Friday Fri-day there will be a musical comedy assembly held to the same theme as for the dance, except that the setting will be an American Army base in Paris, Alaska. Bert Murdock and his Orchestra Or-chestra will furnish the music for the evening. Treat Yourself To A New Story Urges Librarian It's "Trick or Treat" time -Treat Yourself to a New Story is the heading on Orem City Library's bulletin board this month, according to Mrs. Ber-nice Ber-nice Cox, librarian. Several new books of all types have recently been received by Orem City Library at 703 So. State Street. Orem resident of all ages are invited to visit their library to browse, study, or to borrow books and magazines for home fireside reading. There is mat erial available from the latest best seller to old but still delightful de-lightful literature. The little folks will love the new picture books and parents of first, second and third graders, grad-ers, will now find several books their children can read to supplement school material. Educators everywhere realize a good foundation in reading is important for the balance of a person's career. Cutting of Xmas Trees Limited To Two Week-ends The cutting of Alpine fir (Balsam) and Engelmann spruce Christmas trees under individual permit will be permitted per-mitted on the Uinta National Forest the weekends of October Octo-ber 28 and 29th and November 11 and 12th, according to Forest For-est Supervisor Clarence Thor- nock. These trees will be for personal use only as a cost of $1.00 per tree with a limit of two per person. Larger trees for u?e of schools and churches as well as boughs for decor ations may be obtained at the same time in the same location. Christmas trees, particularly Balsam, cut early in the season sea-son while the mountain roads patrons are reminded that when necessary, books may be renewed over the phone AC 5-5911 or books may be returned via the book drop, in the south door of the porch during hour when the library is not open. To get there, follow U.S. Alternate Highway 189 to Francis, near Kamas, then travel east on Utah Highway 33. The cutting area, located adjacent to the highway four miles east of the Wolf Creek Summit, will be bosted. The polls at each polling place shall be opened at the hour of 7:00 o'clock A. M. and will be kept open until and will be closed at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M. No person shall be permitted to vote at said election unless he shall be a registered voter residing In the School Representative Precinct in which he offers to vote and shall have paid a property tax in said school district during the year next proceeding such election.
