Show O REM -GENEVA TIMES THURSDAY, MAY 10, 1956 Utah Home Show To Start May 27 Entertainment of the highest quality for the whole family is promised at the ninth annual Utah Home Show, sponsored by the Utah Home Builders Association. Assoc-iation. The Show will be a "big top" affair and is scheduled at Liberty Park May 27 through June 3, according to Joesph A. Gunderson, president of the Association. As-sociation. The Show, which has enjoyed continual growth through the years, has outgrown its old accomodations ac-comodations at the Rainbow Randevu and will be a drastic departure from previous shows, according to Mr. Gunderson. Three gigantic tents will be set up on the hard-surfaced area around the grandstand. Exhibits will be housed in the huge tents and the bandstand area will be rennovated. and redecorated and used for special entertainment. Three hundred exhibits will be set up under the tents and additional ad-ditional displays will be placed outside the tented area. Helen Foster Named BYU Coed of Month Helen Foster, 134 West Fourth South, Orem, received "Coeds of the Month" honors at Bngham Young University for April. Fine Arts. Kennecott Presents Check for $1,36 To Retired Worker The search for Harry P. Pap- pas has ended! It was a long search. It was a challenge to Kennecott Copper Corporation personnel workers. But, they were determined that a man who had served the firm faithfully long enough to earn a pension would receive such bene fits. Top officials of the company master-minded the search in its latter stages. Mr. Pappas, known only as Pensioner No. 176" to the scores of Kennecott employees involved in the more than three-year long search, was a mighty happy man when Charles R. Bird, Kennecott Pension Plan Administrator, pre sented him with a check for $1,366 in the Salt Lake offices of the firm., At the time, Mr. Bird also advised Mr. Pappas that he was the holder of a $1000 paid-up life Insurance policy another reward for his efforts for the company. Mr. Pappas, a long time employee em-ployee for Kennecott in the Nevada Nev-ada Mines Division, was located recently in Salt Lake City. Working Work-ing In McGill, he had quit in May of 1952 and the following year it was determined that he was eligible for a pension. From that time, the search went on for Harry Pappas. Con tacts were made in almost every Western state and with several agencies of the Federal Government. Govern-ment. He finally was located through a Greek organization In Salt Lake City after a McGill employee had informed the investigators in-vestigators of his whereabouts. PINEAPPLE LAYER RJNG ; 1 package strawberry-flavored 1 package lemon-flavored gelatin i cups syiup from pineappls 2 tablespoons lemon juice cup strawberries 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tlVi can pineapple chunks Dissolve strawberry gelatin in heated pineapple syrup, adding water if needed to make right amount. Stir in lemon juice. Chill until thick but not firm. Halve berries and sprinkle with sugar. Add 1 cup drained pineapple chunks and berries to thick gelatin. gela-tin. Pour into 8-inch ring mold. Chill firm. eelatin cup boiling water 2 tablespoons lemon juics V4 teaspoon salt 1 cup cottage cheese cup whipping cream V4 cup chopped walnuts Dissolve lemon gelatin in boiling boil-ing water. Stir in lemon juice and salt. Cool, and blend in sieved cottage cheese. Whip cream until stiff and fold in with walnuts. Pour into mold over firm red layer. Chill firm. Unmold and decorate with water cress, whole berries and pineapple slices. Fill center of ring with remaining pineapple chunks. Alpine Loop To Be Closed For Repair The Alpine scenic loop highway high-way through American Fork canyon can-yon will be closed for the next ten days to repair damages, reports re-ports Ranger Wallace M. Saling. If the repairs are made in time the road will be re-opened May 19, according to Carl Webb, state road supervisor. The road up the north fork of American Fork canyon is open to travel but care should be used as the road is toft. All camp . grounds are now ready for recreational use.
