Students from the tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades were eligible to vote. The present sti denbody president, Ralph Mott, arranged the primary winners and the legislative council into the campaigning parties, the Gold and the Blue. Teddy Rohbock is chairman of the Gold Party. Clifford Craig Is running for studentbody president, presi-dent, Joan Guymon for vice nres- ident, Karen Peterson for secretary, secre-tary, Mary Stubben for histor ian, and Ludene Jolley for pro gram chairman. The cheerleaders running on the Gold Party are Leontine Carter, LaDean Andrew and Kathleen Marshall. Lynn Poulson is chairman of the Blue Party. Ernest Seppl is running for president; his twin brother, Ned Seppl, is running for vice president. Joan Stewart Is running for secretary, Anna Mae Tobler for historian and Linda Blackburn for program chair man. The cheerleaders for the Blue Party are Marilyn Bills, Fae Andrews, Gay Fotheringham and Lois Jensen. Campaigning will be conducted next week with the campaign assembly set for Thursday in the Scera auditorium. Friday wlil be the day for final elections. That evening winners will be an nounced at an election dance in the school gym. Steel chemists at Geneva Works served as hosts to Lincoln Lin-coln High School chemistry students stu-dents Thursday as a part of the state-wide celebration of Chemi cal Progress Week. More than 800 Utah high school and college chemistry students will visit de partments to Geneva Works or dinarily not included in tours of the plant. Students from Payson and Springville visited the plant on Tuesday and made detailed in spections of the coal chemical and by-products of the coke ov en divisions. Later they were escorted through the metallurgl cal, chemical and inspection laboratories lab-oratories and told just how each functions at Geneva. There is an ever growing need for Chemists not only in the i steel industry but throughout all! industries, Lawrence F. Black, Geneva general superintendent explains, "and we hope through these special tours of our chemical chemi-cal plants and labs to arouse some interest in our students in the field of chemisry as a career.' LHS Clubs Seek New Members Several clubs at Lincoln High School are currently conducting tryouts and accepting applications applica-tions for membership. Tigerette tryouts were held May 1 in the Lincoln gym with Karen Edwards, president, in charge. The applicants were voted vot-ed on by posture raters from the BYU and if they passed the posture pos-ture rating test they were then eligible for the club if they had a B average in their school work. The Tigerettes are planning their annual Spring Banquet at a local cafe for the night of May 9. Sapere Aude tryouts were held April 29 after school. Sandra Pugh, president, took charge. This elub is the scholastic club of the school and the members must have 13 points on their report cards. The points are counted by this method: A equals three points, B equals 2 points, and C equals one point. New members will be announced Wednesday, Wed-nesday, May 9.
