Show -4 OREM-GENEVA TIMES THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 1953 La NEWS FROM LINCOLN HIGH The Lincoln High school Journalism Jour-nalism workshop is planning to attend the Intermountaln Journalism Journ-alism Conference Saturday at BYU. Some of the students of the department are planning to enter the Student Writing Contest for 1053, which is held in connection with the conference. The depart ment is under the direction of John Freckleton, faculty advisor in charge of publications. The Journalism class Includes the members of the Livewire ' staff: Dixie Ann Haws, Editor; Merrill Palmer, managing editor; Sherry Brown, news editor; and Marsha Morgan, Gay Willoughby, - Wanda Lee, Kenneth Marshall, Donald Marumoto, Jan Peterson, Joan Rowley, Idyll Spalding and Verlyn Westwood, reporters and department editors. Two class parties are to be held Friday. The senior class Is having Its traditional Hallowe'en party at the high school, beginning at 7:30. A spook alley Is to be the main attraction, with games. program and food also to be en-fleyed. en-fleyed. The social committee of the Senior Class is general committee on arrangements and includes Jewell Mott, Tom Moon, and Jerry Jer-ry York, with Carl Swenson as faculty advisor. The junior class party will be held at the girls home in Provo Canyon. Buses will take the group to the canyon where supper will be enjoyed. This will be follow ed by games, dancing and story telling. Committe members in charge are class officers Donald Marumoto, Maru-moto, Jimmy Abraham and Jai-mee Jai-mee Norton. r Adult Education Classes Begin At Lincoln Orem's adult education classes began Wednesday, Oct. 28, as announced an-nounced by the Parent Teachers Association, who are sponsors of the classes. Lincoln, Westmore, Page, Sharon, Shar-on, Geneva and Union schools are participating, and all patrons of these schools are Invited to en roll in the classes. All classes will be held in the Lincoln High school. The schedule Is as follows: Leathercraft, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Mario Busslo, instructor; instruc-tor; ceramics, Wednesday, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Mrs. Jack Preffett, Instructor; In-structor; typewriting, Wednesday, 7:30 to 9:30 pm, Erval Chris ten-sen, ten-sen, instructor; lamp shade making, mak-ing, Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Mrs. LaVar Bateman, in structor; advanced sewing and tailoring, Friday afternoon from 3:30 to 0:30 p.m., Mrs. Marcelle Skinner, instructor; general sew-) lag, Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Mrs, Marcelle Skinner, Instructor. COMING Evangelist Arthur W. Francis Jr., of Sioux City, Iowa, will be in Provo Nov.
