Evelyn Baird Ryan, age 95, passed away on June 18, 2004 in Palm Springs, Calif. She was born on May 27, 1909 in Heber City to James Robertson and Elizabeth Jessie Phillips Baird. She married Donald W. Ryan on Sept. 29, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She graduated from Wasatch High School and attended Utah State University. She spent most of her working life as a librarian. librar-ian. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in the Relief Society and as the president of the Women's Professional and Business Club. She is survived by daughter Connie (Dick) Chapman of Desert Hot Springs; and two sons: Calvin (Bonnie) Ryan of Desert Hot Springs, and Duane (Martha) Ryan of Portales, N.M. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2 p.m. at the Heber 7th Ward, 240 East 400 South. -' : i v v" in. All friends are invited. i Billie Leon Sweatfield, age 56, passed away Saturday evening, June 19, 2004 in Salt Lake City. He was born Feb. 10, 1948 in Park City to Melvin Leveler and Norma Maynard Sweatfield. He worked as a cook at the High Country Cafe and the Hub. Many in Heber will miss seeing him walk daily around town. Billie served his country in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division, during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Medal of Valor and Snipers Medal. He is survived by two sons, William and Melvin (Amie) Sweatfield all of Heber City; five grandchildren; brother; Bobbie of Heber City; nephews, Kenny and Bobbie; niece, Laura. He is preceded preced-ed in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 25, 11 a.m. at the Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 No. Main St., Heber. Friends and family are welcome Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour 1 W Billie Sweatfield prior to services on Friday. Burial will follow at the Heber City Cemetery with military honors.
