Show The Park Record C5 Utah festival wins award E-MAIL ME SatSunMonTues, March 2-5, 2002 W J '"ML . The Utah Shakespearean Testival is winning awards again. This time the accolades arent for its plays, but for its publications. The festival received two International Festival and Events Association Pinnacle awards at the association's yearly conference in Las Vegas on Jan. 22 a gold award for the best promotional brochure (four or more colors) and a silver award in the best event program (four or more colors) category. The Pinnacle Awards Competition recognizes excellence in event promotion, from promotional promo-tional merchandise such as hats and key chains to posters and brochures. According to the IFEA Web site, the Pinnacle Awards Competition strives for the highest quality in fes tival and event promotions. In doing so, the standards and quality of media promotions have been raised to new heights, industry wide. The IFEA has been a leader in the events and promotions industry for 45 years, and currently boasts over 2,700 members made up of professionals in events promotion and fund-raising. "Through publications, publica-tions, seminars, and the annual convention con-vention and trade show, IFEA is advancing festivals and events around the world," according to the IFEA Web site. "So many people know that the Utah Shakespearean Festival wins awards for theater, but not many people know that we have won awards for our publications as well," said Bruce C. Lee, festival publica tions director. "We are proud of our publications. Our goal always is to reflect the high quality of our plays, and the festival in general, in our printed and online materials." The festival publications department depart-ment writes; designs and produces more than 100 publications each year and also designs, produces and maintains the festival's Web site. The Utah Shakespearean Festival was awarded a coveted Tony award for Outstanding Regional Theater in 2000. The festival fes-tival first started in 1962, and is now celebrating its 41st anniversary anniver-sary with the 2002 season.
